The show hasn't mentioned anything about his absence.
Just got the e-mail - Hugh is out for this afternoon’s matinee.
He's out for both shows, I'm assuming Max will be on again unless they let Sean Montgomery go on.

Something makes me think Hugh's vocal problems are more than a "sore throat". I wish him well.

Hugh had vocal issues when doing "Les Mis" & "The Greatest Showman". If this was COVID, he would have been announced to be out an entire week. The fact that they're doing this day-by-day makes it appear like it's nothing serious. Let's see if he's back on Friday. Hugh also hasn't posted anything on his socials regarding his absence.

I've always felt Hugh has been using a yerrible vocal technique. His current vocal problems may be a result of that.
Just a guess.

Hugh posted an Instagram Story on Saturday saying that he was sick but it wasn't COVID. Neither he nor Max has said anything since last weekend though. I also would have gone last night had there been enough advance notice about Max being on. I know he's likely on tonight too but so far the prices haven't really come down much.
The show is available at TKTS tonight for 50% off($149)!

I don't live in the city so I need to buy in advance on Telecharge. I don't want to chance coming in and them being sold out.

The Greatest Showman? That was recorded in a studio before the movie shoot. The only issues that I recall associated with that film were when he wasn't supposed to sing during a workshop because he had stitches in his nose the day after having a Mohs skin cancer procedure (but he sang anyway).
On the other hand, he did have to postpone a few concerts in Turkey back in 2015 because of a vocal hemorrhage. On the OTHER other hand, he completed a 92-stop concert tour in 2019.
He lost his voice after Saturday's matinee, clearly wasn't going to be ready by Sunday afternoon and has been day to day since then. He just posted on his social media that he's getting better and hopes to be cleared to return to the show very soon. He has tomorrow off. Fingers crossed for the travelers that he can do at least some shows this holiday weekend.
They're dark tomorrow but then have a 5 show weekend. I don't think he'd be able to tough it up to do 5 shows in 3 days. I'd expect him to miss, IMO, the Friday matinee, too.
Looks like Hugh is back today.
