Up to now Max has missed three...I don't know about Laura.

The simple reason you haven't read about their performance attendance is because:

Do stars in Disney shows also have problems with casting in 'maintstream' productions? Seems like Disney stars may have 'issues' like reality TV casting winners.

Laura Osnes has a really good voice. I think she'll be around after this is over.

Me and my sister both think that if the reality show never happened, that Laura probably would've made it to Broadway on her on, whereas Max would probably still be struggling to get here.

A friend of my sister's said that Max is a real jerk at the stage door. She was telling me that her friend went to see Grease and said the only good thing about it was Laura and I think she said he said he liked Jenny Powers too and he was at the stage door and Laura came out and he was saying would you sign this and she was like oh sure and was all nice and everything, then he asks Max and Max says, "Give it to the security guy."

I also feel that if the reality show hadn't come up Max wouldn't have been on Broadway. That's because he hadn't been trying to get on Broadway. He actually gave up on musical theatre and was concentrating on acting in LA. He had done an independent film and a few commercials. I think Max would have found a nitch out in Hollywood eventually.

Funny, I've been to the stage door more than once and I've never seen Max be a jerk. Maybe it was on one of the nights he was sick.

I just got back from seeing Grease. It was a fun night out and the music was of course great. I watched the reality show with Max and Laura so I fell in love with them on the show and I think they both did an excellent job. After the show as we were leaving I saw there were barricades set up so we decided to stick around becuase there was not alot of people waiting. They were both the nicest people ever. The seemed very lovey dovey because their arms were around each other the whole time they were signing autographs so my one friend ask them if they were together and we were alittle embaressed when max said that she was married! lol but anyway I did not get the vibe that he was a jerk, he signed every autograph and plus took pictures with whoever asked (got an awsome picture with them :)). Maybe that night he was sick like you said. All in all a fun night out in the city!

I don't think Max is a jerk, I don't get that impression. He's very talented and that's why he won the role over all those more hunky studs, he can actually act, I hope he'll get other roles after this and show what he can do.

Yeah, when I met Max he was really nice. A really great guy.

Unfortunately, they are bombarded every single night with insane fans at the stage door. It's understandable that they'd be a little cranky every once in a while, but they both seemed very nice to me.

I think Laura has a future ahead of her. Her voice is so pure and sweet that I loved whenever she sang in a song. I also couldn't keep my eyes off of her because she had such great stage presence. Max on the other hand..it may be back to the community theatre life for him.

Laura took about a week of scheduled vacation in February, but other than that she hasn't been out.

Well, plans haven't been exactly announced, but it's inevitable. They're cruise ship material, don't you think?

"Max on the other hand..it may be back to the community theatre life for him."

I think Max is better suited to film/TV anyway. Like I mentioned in my previous post in this thread Max wasn't pursuing musical theatre but went to the Grease audition on a whim (per his Chatterbox interview).

He's a goofy, personable guy and I think there are a few sitcoms inside of him. I'm not sure if he could carry his own sitcom YET but maybe down the line.

Cruise ship material? And what does that mean? Do you have any idea how many Broadway performers have worked in cruise ship or theme park shows before getting their "break"?

I like both Max and Laura and wish them all the best for their careers after Grease.

I sat through 'Grease' last Sunday - the only - I repeat, ONLY, - part of the production that didn't make me want to kill myself was Jenny Powers.

That said, every time Laura Osnes opened her mouth, I kept thinking that she'd make a GREAT Belle some day.

what's going to happen when their contracts are up? I mean the whole point of the show is to see The two who won the reality show. Obviously if the show is doing good enough business, it won't close, but then the only draw is the show itself and not the two actors.

or do their contracts stipulate that they have to be with the production until it closes?

since this is a special case show because of the reality contest, it just makes me wonder.

In the West End, the hype surrounding The Sound of Music revival was seeing Connie Fisher, the winner of the reality show "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?" Connie has since left the show, and Summer Strallen has replaced her. I don't know what the attendance numbers are, but the show's still running. I have no idea of the terms of Max's and Laura's contracts, but it isn't entirely inconceivable that the show could continue without them if the replacements are well-cast.
