Wow...I am very much excited to see the film. It definitely looks very theatrical...but that's something I like in movies! I think it will attract the general public.
Oh my god, I am so excited for this. I really like the trailer! And I doubt that trailer will be played in cinemas here, either. It's probably just for online.

Merrison's moustache doesn't really fit....
I was thinking the EXACT same thing, Yankee.
I saw his understudy, since he was on vacation, does he have that somewhat ridiculous moustache on stage!!??
I'm sheepishly sitting here, wondering how I ever knew there wasn't going to be a movie...
Let's hear it for the BOYS!
It looks good. I'm holding off seeing the show until the original cast is back, so that's the end of this month.
Me too. They're all back August 22nd through the end of the run, correct?
August 20th.
I actually disliked this play VERY much! Just my opinion, but they have done a great job with the trailer. It makes me want to see it again.

No, the moustache isn't in the stage show.

Thanks for posting, that was most enjoyable!
(And Wanna be a Foster, may I ask where you found that Ralph Fienne quote? It's terrific...)
NBC, I found that quote a while back, in an article about Schindler's List.

Given all the acclaim the play has had, I'm surprised there's not much Oscar talk for this movie. Probably bec. it's comedic although I do think Richard Griffiths will prob. get a nomination out of this.
Ooh, I love it!
Actually Wildcard, in Entertainment Weekly it was listed as a potential Oscar nominee.

Money's a big factor in why I'm not seeing it.
ooh i'd totally see this! although it appears there's some added bits that weren't on stage. i wonder how it'll come across with all that light. on stage it came across so much darker....

I can't wait for this! I never got to see this on stage so hopefully this will be a good substitute. Of course hopefully it will tour to my town eventually...
Just a small note on some of changes they've made... Hector is in the picture near the end of the play!
C-Q...I noticed that about Hector too, and I wonder if he really ends up in the photo or if it just looked like that (as he initially poses for the timed pic). I don't think I'd like the idea of him being there. He's supposed to be pushed out there.
The trailer looks...fun. I'm not sure that I expect it to have the oomph that the play does, but that doesn't necessarily mean it won't be thoroughly enjoyable.
I just wonder what's going to be changed...and cut. I could have sworn I read somewhere that they've cut it down to something like 1hr, 40 min! That's a hell of a lot to cut. Plus, there was an interview with Sam Barnett where he discussed reactions to Posner's sad end, and pointed out that the end of the film will be different. Hmm...I hope he doesn't have a happy ending (the only other thing I can think of is that they just wouldn't say what happens to them all, which I'd prefer to the happy ending...hence my snarky comment in C-Q's sig, incase anyone was wondering what the hell that was all about. Is it horrible of me not to want a happy ending for Posner, not to want to see hime "living hapily in London and singing showtunes with his boyfriend"???)
Should be interesting! I'm glad to finally see the trailer though! Where the hell do you find all this stuff, C-Q??
