May The Lord Who Watches All Watch Over Thee - Brian d'Arcy James Love Thread

This man is so very talented, and I believe he deserved a Tony Award for TITANIC. He had two of the most gorgeous songs in the show, and I hope he will receive at least a nomination this season for THE APPLE TREE. He belongs on stage, in musicals, as great as he was in THE LIEUTENANT OF INISHMORE. His voice deserves to be heard, and I'd like to create this thread to show my adoration and appreciation for Mr. Brian d'Arcy James.

He's my #1 choice for Lt. Cable. Just imagine how gorgeous his "Younger Than Springtime" would be.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

I enjoyed him in THE APPLE TREE, too, Foster, especially as Adam. If only they were faithful to the story and didn't make him wear that damn white suit. *swoon* I wanted to meet him briefly at the stage door afterward, but noooooooo you didn't want to.

I know more than a few die-hard Norbert fans will take issue with this, but I also enjoyed him immensely in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. I thought he did a fantastic job.

I'll second that he was pretty fantastic in DRS.

The first time I heard him sing the "May the Lord who watches all..." part in Titanic, I literally gasped. It was so beautiful. Wonderful, wonderful singer. I agree - his Lt. Cable would be divine.

Oh, and ot - SDav, I like your avatar. Bright Young Things is so great!

I saw him in The Apple Tree today. He's really great. Especially enjoyed him as Adam and Flip.

The fact that he didn't even receive a nomination for TITANIC blows me away. I suppose the nominating committee saw it as more of an ensemble piece.

Mr. James could always invest in a razor... re: May The Lord Who Watches All Watch Over Thee - Brian d'Arcy James Love

I saw him in Titanic before I actually figured out that the actors on Broadway have actual names! re: May The Lord Who Watches All Watch Over Thee - Brian d'Arcy James Love

I saw him again in The Apple Tree, and I thought he was spectacular. That voice is beautiful!
So, that was the Drowsy Chaperone. Oh, I love it so much. I know it's not a perfect show...but it does what a musical is supposed to do. It takes you to another world, and it gives you a little tune to carry with you in your head for when you're feeling blue. Ya know?
