Did anyone here see Stacie Morgain Lewis? I saw her and thought she was incredible...but it was my first time seeing the show and it was her first performance. I'd seen clips from the show, but it was my first live performance and I loved her. I really wish I could see JLT in the role, but my next trip to NY isn't until July.

haha
Yes, Elphaba3, I think you are the only one
I think it is a close tie between Kristen and Jennifer's voices, which are very different, but as far as acting and comedy goes, for me it absolutely has to go to JLT. I thought the review posted by buncha, was quite good in some respects, but for it is just that Kristen never made me laugh like Jennifer did. The author of the review points to the guffaws that Chenoweth received from such one word lines as "huh?" -- but I experienced much that same thing to an even greater and more poignant extent with Jennifer. I find her humor much more appropriately timed and spaced, and every time I hear Popular I role on the floor laughing like I never did with Kristen. She takes the character beyond a level that Chenoweth did.
I could write pages about this, but it's all just my opinion, so I'll stop here

"Kristin did do schtick, but I think it worked better than "hey look at me, I'm funny.""
"Hey, look at me, I'm funny.".....that's what Kristin did. Jennifer played a character. There were are more layers to Jennifer Laura's Glinda, and I think that's even why the comedy works better. Because she lets the character get the reaction, rather than fishing for laughs (which, of course, worked very nicely for the role of Glinda in Kristin's case, but its just on a different level of work.)
Kristin is a fantastic comedianne with great timing and a wonderful voice, but I think Jennifer is more of an actress.

I agree with you there. I think Jen is better as a dramatic actress that a comedic one. As I said, her rendition of "Thank Goodness" is amazing. The best of all the Glindas I've heard, in terms of acting.

I will say, being in the audience when KC comes out is amazing. Just to think how great she is and to be there. I will never forget when I first saw the show and she came out. But by the end of the show, JLT proved herself better.
Period.
