re: Cyndi Lauper should return to Broadway Jul 12 2008, 11:43:35 AM
Thanks for your defense Bobby, but what he thinks of my opionion doesn't bother me. Its what I thought sounded good to me, As you can see I am a Madeline Kahn Fan as well as a Cyndi Lauper fan, but at least I don't want to be them like he wants to be Sutton Foster. By the way a good idea for Paulette, but I rather her do a show where she is the original in a new production or revival.

Cyndi Lauper should return to Broadway Jul 12 2008, 10:43:49 AM
I think she should do a revival of Mame or Hello Dolly! or even Applause.

re: Lauper Headed Back to Studio 54? Mar 12 2008, 08:33:19 PM
That would be really great if Cyndi Lauper does this show. She could become the toast of Braodway with this part. Let us all hope it all pans out.

Arsenic and Old Lace Mar 4 2008, 09:27:07 PM
I think its time for a revival. Love to see Cheyenne Jackson in the role of Mortimer Brewster. He does have great comic timing.

re: Roles you WISH people would play Aug 17 2007, 01:54:25 PM
How about Cheyenne Jackson as Mortimer brewster in Arsenic and Old Lace? He has such comedic skills. Wonder if he can be as funny as Cary Grant was. Love ot see how Cheyenne Jackson do that part and be as funny in the scene where he gets tied up and gagged to a chair by his brother Jonathan. He would probably pull it off.

re: Would you recommend the play Old Acquaintance? Aug 17 2007, 01:52:12 PM
Why do you say it would be impossible. Maybe because madonna is afraid to appear with Cyndi Lauper on stage because she knows she would look like a pale camparison. After all we all know Cyndi is the better of the 2 in all aspects of entertaining.

Cyndi Lauper needs to do another Broadway show. Why not make this a musical and put Madonna opposite Cyndi Lauper.

re: Guys and Dolls Revival casting Jul 26 2007, 11:32:36 AM
Cyndi Lauper would be great as Adaeline. She may be a little old for the part but then again isn't Megan Mullaley too old for the Madeline Kahn part in Young Frankenstein? If she were still alive she could play either part as well in both musicals.

re: Which actress do you think will play a great Rose ? Jul 17 2007, 11:40:31 AM
Cyndi Lauper would be a perfect choice for Mamma Rose for the big screen.

re: Madeline Kahn at the 1978 Tony Awards... Apr 22 2007, 11:39:06 AM
I don't think Madeline Kahn suffered from stage fright. She was doing Broadway for 10 years by then. Lets just let her rest in peace and remember her brilliant work she done.

re: Young Frankenstein to take the Hilton? Apr 19 2007, 02:10:33 PM
I think Young Frankenstein will open at the St. James Theater after all. I saw its star the great Madeline Kahn there in On The Twentieth Century. Broadway has never been the same since she died. Only Cyndi Lauper comes a close second to her.

If there is a dvdof On The Twentieth Century starring the great Madeline Kahn, I would love ot get a copy in my hands. I heard you can go to the library at licoln center and they have a video of all the broadway plays. Don't know if its true or if they have everything. Would go see all her shows there then.

Sorry I am a bit biased when it comes to Madeline Kahn!

re: Madeline Kahn at the 1978 Tony Awards... Apr 13 2007, 08:36:47 PM
Please let Madeline Kahn rest in peace. She is not here to tell her side of the story and she never talked about it, thats how classy she was. Cy Coleman said in an interview he wanted Madeline Kahn from the get go as Lily Garland in On The Twentieth Century. I only wish I had seen her in In The Boom Boom Room and her earlier Broadway roles. I loved her in Born Yesterday and she won the tony for her brillaint portrayl of Gorgeous Tietebaum in The Sisters Rosenweig. They should have filmed t

re: Madeline Kahn at the 1978 Tony Awards... Apr 8 2007, 01:25:28 PM
Madeline Kahn was class act her whole life. It bothers me that people believe Hal Prince would bad mouth her so bad. How good of a director is he if he didn't know Bernadette Peters from Madeline Kahn. I saw her as Lily Garland in On The Twentieth Century and she was sensational and was is also on the original cast recording. Its a shame she didn't star in a movie verson of this broadway musical. Its been mentioned that she had a substance abuse in the 70's. I never heard of her having had

re: Megan Mullally Cast in Young Frankenstein? Feb 26 2007, 07:53:31 PM
Just for your info, when Young Frankenstein was going into production back in 1974, Madeline Kahn was originally cast in the role of Inga, but then decided she rather play Elizabeth. Yes Inga is a bigger part, but Elizabeth is a small but pivotal role. In that little screen time she stole the whole movie. I mean the whole cast is perfect don't get me wrong but she is the icing on the cake. She is like the top bottle of wine in the wine cellar. Only break it out on a special occasion. I can

I saw Madeline Kahn as Lily garland in On The Twentieth Century and she was brillant in it. The director just had it out for her. She was perfect in every way. Maybe when you saw her in it she was feeling under the weather.

Cyndi Lauper as Margo Channing of course.

How about a revival of Applause starring Cyndi Lauper.

re: Anyone can Whistle Feb 23 2007, 10:36:16 AM
I heard the recording and love everything Madeline Kahn sang. She was one of the best vocalist to ever appear on Broadway and the silver screen. It's a shame she didn't do more musicals on stage and screen.
