Melanie Griffith

Okay, I have not posted on this board, but I feel it is my public duty to convey my thoughts on Melanie Griffith's performance in the Saturday night show...

I've been hoping to find a board to post on since I got back from seeing the show.

So, how was Melanie Griffith? She was the worst kind of horrible. So bad I don't know where to begin. I have tried to block most of it out, but here are some fragmented thoughts running through my head...

Total lack of comedic timing, zero singing voice, off key - sharp and flat - didn't know dance steps - actually looked at Deidre's feet through entire last number so she'd know what to do - a beat off every dance number - NO energy (what do you expect from a Hollywood Honey)- brought nothing to the show - I could have given a better performance and I don't act, sing, or dance.

She brought the entire show down. A show that is usually so full of energy and it actually seemed to drag on forever. There were points during the show that I wondered (this is truthful) if she had rehearsed at all or if she was drunk.

We couldn't wait to get out of the theatre.

What a shame. The rest of the cast was excellent.

Oh Lord, I am seeing her August 2 if she lasts.

....mind you those pictures are air brushed and touched with more paint than an over produced animated movie.

I say avoid it. It seems that anyone who has seen her comes out of the the thetare with a VERY itchy rash in the incredible urge to vomit. NOt to mention the dizzy spells.

Suddenly this is Must-See!!! We'll be talking about this train wreck of a performance for years!

Ellie, do you remember if she said the "I'm older than I ever intended to be" line on Saturday? She didn't say it on Friday, and my friends and I were wondering if she just skipped it, or if it had been taken out on purpose.

And yes, I'd have to concur...she was pretty bad. Though as my friend and I said, her performance could be considered inspirational...no longer does the lack of singing or dancing ability mean you can't someday headline a hit Broadway musical!

Yes, she did say that line -- just one of the few painful lines she uttered throughout the evening.

That's all I've got to say. OY! I'm pretty much glad she won't be there when I'm in the city for the weekend of the WICKED premier. I was thinking of heading over to see Chicago on that Saturday night...

Does anyone have any good recipes for bruised fruit and vegetables? Maybe we can send them to Melanie. It seems as though she'll have a bumper crop of each at the end of every performance.

Lass, Melanie improve? I doubt it. She's been rehearsing since April, I think. If she doesn't have it by now, she never will. Hopefully they'll pull her before she takes the whole show down.

I just had minor abdominal surgery 4 days ago and it hurts to laugh!! You're killing me!

I havent seen Melanie, nor do I intend to --- I am not surprised by these comments though. How does someone with NO stage experience (that I have heard about) have the CHUTZPAH to arrive on Broadway and in such a demanding role no less? What were the producers thinking?? Was Melanie just looking for something to do while Antonio was busy......how embarrassing can this be?? To pay such ticket prices to see this is madness!
