Hi Becky, :)
Yes-"Our Time" is so moving and beautiful--almost like an anthem for young people.

Hi Doug... :)
The MAN OF LA MANCHA--yes!
Cervantes finally learns his "own lesson" about standing up to the adversities of life by telling his 'Don Quixote' story.
Going up ramp out of jail to the "outside world" takes him from darkness into light.
And what can you say about an ending that has the FULL COMPANY singing "The Impossible Dream"?
Spine-tingling!

MaryEthel - You'll no doubt run into ReadHotNinny here sooner than later, and he is our resident expert on and lover of La Mancha (played the role a few times.) He gets very emotional talking about that final scene - with good reason

Ahh!! Into the Woods was pretty good. I liked the 3 parts.
Godspell=#1 ending. So sad..but yet..so good. I loved the..(I think OBC) when they incorporated Day By Day into the finale. It was awesome. I didn't really like Day By Day (by itself)-but in the Finale, it was incredible.

Hi Derek, :)
I'm just curious. Are you referring to stage FUNNY GIRL when show ends with Fanny reprising "Don't Rain On My Parade," or the film FUNNY GIRL with Fanny singing "My Man."
I think both are equally moving in their own way. :)
re: Memorable Closing Numbers#41
Posted: 10/10/04 at 6:14pmI have to agree with Man of La Mancha. It was the first time I ever cried at the theatre. When Cervantes exits and Sancho hugs him...wow.

Les Mis
Titanic has an amazing ending number very moving
A chorus line
bare (I was sobbing at the end of the show)
Cabaret very heart wrenching
Company
Big river "free at last" is just a moving song and the reprise of "muddy water" gets you on your feet!
Scarlet Pimpernel
Damn Yankees
1776
"Watching a frat boy realize just what he put his d!ck in...ex's getting std's...schadenfruede" ~ Ave Q
"when dangers near, exploit their fear" ~ Reefer Madness the Musical
re: Memorable Closing Numbers#43
Posted: 10/10/04 at 6:34pmI would go with Les Miz and 1776, although the Finale B of Rent is a personal fave of mine too.

Both endings lol
If Funny Girl ever came back to broadway, I think (as much as i love this song) the music that makes me dance should be replaced by My Man. That way u get both My Man and Dont Rain on my Parade

Hey Derek, :)
The only reason "My Man" WASN'T USED in original Broadway Production is because David Merrick (producer) couldn't get the rights to it! :)

I'll be boring and say "Rose's Turn."
Also love ACL and CHICAGO.
re: Memorable Closing Numbers#49
Posted: 10/10/04 at 8:27pmThe Finale to The Phantom of The Opera (tear, tears and then billions of tears), I think that is the most gut wrenching ending ever next to LES MIS
