So I was at Merchant tonight (fantastic production!) and at the stage door someone asked Pachino if the production would extend and he said they are taking a break at the end of the current run and then opening back up in the spring..the guy also asked if it was with someone else and in typical Pachino fashion he said "with Me!"
Obviously you cant confirm anything until there is an official statement, but I think thats good news. I know there were rumors of an extension, and with what I overheard tonight I think it sounds pretty likely

And if it wins some of the big awards (Best Revival, Best Actor, Best Actress), anyone planning to see it is going to be gravely disappointed, as I'm sure it will be long since gone (remember Fences last year?).

Posted: 12/20/10 at 12:10pmI did standing room for the matinee on Saturday the 18th and Pacino was in and performing a masterful Shylock. I felt the entire production was well worth the 3-hour running time (w/ one intermission).

What marvelous news! Though the tying up of the lovers' storylines still feels a little, uh, push-and-pull after that revelatory climactic courtroom scene (+ Sullivan's magical addendum), it's still one of the best shows running. I hope everyone gets a chance to experience it.

Thank you Donelbee, I had no luck with buying a ticket online, so I was going to try for a lottery, instead of taking a chance with that maybe I will pick up a ticket for standing room.
Pre-sale for Amex Preferred seating started today (12/21) for added shows, Feb 1 - 20, general public sales start the 28th.
So glad to get a ticket ?
