Well to be honest, I don't know how "Classy" I am. Like I said, I did think about not joining the club but calling anyway but thanks anyway.

I am going to call tomorrow now.

Deb, way to go! I'm sure you got some good seats.

I hope all those who cheated and got their tickets early (who were not members of the Michael Ball fan club) are proud of themselves. I noticed they weren't so proud as to give their real names when posting private fan club information on this site.

Thank you. I do hope to meet as many of you as I can when I go. I think I scored pretty good seats. I'm pleased.

Those who cheated will have it come back to them. Maybe not today but it will happen.

He gets around. He was on Melbourne television this morning and will be all over the country in the next two weeks. Small world isn't it?

Hope Michael's concert in Salt Lake City is as well attended as it deserves to be; he's a fabulous live performer.

A lot of fans accept that Michael is gay - apart from those who like to bury their heads in the sand. It shouldn't matter. A good singer is a good singer ...

Couldn't quite believe Lily White's comments though that most people in the UK have never heard of Michael Ball. ????? You will always someone who has "never heard" of even extremely famous people but I would say that, generally speaking, most people here have heard of him.

Just because he never appears in the pop-obsessed media doesn't mean to say that he isn't popular with the general public.

From a UK resident!

Now you've gone and done it. You've opened a can of worms (about the "gay" part).

Responses should be interesting................

Mollyfair, if "it shouldn't matter," then why did you feel the need to bring up the subject? Michael Ball is a gifted singer - period.

BTW, when I flew to the UK in November for one of Michael's concerts, I was asked by the person at Passport Control the reason for my visit. I said to see Michael Ball in concert, and the person didn't know who I was talking about! re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: Michael Ball Concerts in Salt Lake Cit I just figured he was in the minority.

Gay, Straight, Bi, Sideways, Green, Blue or Yellow. I don't care. As long as he does his JOB and sings the way I've come to expect, he can swing from the trees in a pink with purple poka dot tu-tu for all I care.

BTW, I've got the folks at work pretty well trained. They can now tell a Michael Ball from a Michael Crawford from a Michael Aday song. When someone new asks " Michael Who" THEY tell them, "Can't you tell, that's Michael A, B or C!" I'm so proud of them.

Ten per cent of the world’s population are gay. Half of the theatre world are gay. So why this constant ‘obsession’ with the fact that this particular man may be gay.

I use the words ‘may be’ because I, like nearly everybody else, have no actual first-hand proof either way.

Anyone who reads theatre discussion boards knows that there are people who believe him to be gay. It is their right to think and believe as they do. There are also those who do not believe it or who choose to ‘bury their heads in the sand.’ It is also their right to think and believe what they want to. It shouldn’t matter to you, me or anyone what anybody else thinks, so leave them alone. Live and let live. Let them be happy in their ‘ignorance’ - if that is what it is. There is no need to constantly bring this subject up and keep ramming it down people‘s throats. Let it rest.

Michael is a wonderful singer, brilliant performer, he has a lovely personality and is, as I do know from personal experience, a very genuinely kind and caring human being.

I love how things like this are never expressed whenever anyone wonders if a performer is straight.

Hi kec, well actually I didn't bring this subject up as such, I merely replied to earlier posts about it!

It shouldn't matter of course, but in the real world it sometimes does. Even in these politically correct times, no-one can deny that there is still some homophobia about.

Michael's occasional nickname over here is "The Heart-throb of the Musicals". He has an adoring army of women fans, many of whom I'm afraid to say would not feel the same about him if they thought/knew he was gay. (I'm not one of them.)

But I agree with you, West End fan, for all those fans who don't wish to open their minds to it, then of course it is their right not to.

Well, I'll let the subject drop now!

In the meantime, hope everyone enjoys the Salt Lake City concert by one of the best entertainers Britain has ever produced.

Getting back to the subject of Michael's concerts in Salt Lake City... here is some information courtesy of the Michael Ball Fan Club news page:

"The concert in Salt Lake City is being produced for the benefit of a local charity. This charity finds children who are financially underprivileged, minorities, and handicapped who would not normally experience the joys of learning music and then the charity supplies music lessons and instruments to these children free of charge.

The charity is printing a commemorative program for the Salt Lake City concert. It will include information about Michaels awards in Salt Lake such as the "Key to the City" and his singing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. There will be a limited number of these programs printed and we wanted to make the purchase of these programs available prior to the concert. There is a possibility that these programs will not be sold at the concert due to the limited number being produced. We also believe that since there are some who will not be able to attend the concert in Salt Lake City, we feel that they also should have access to these programs.

The programs are available to members and non fan club members alike so pass on this info. The programs will be available for distribution around concert time. If you are attending the concert you will be instructed where to pick up your reserved program while in Salt Lake. The cost of the program is $15.00 USD. If you are unable to attend the concert but would still like one, just include an additional $4.95 for shipping and handling and one will be shipped to you. Please forward a check or money order to:

The Skokos Foundation For The Performing Arts
P.O. Box 901453
Sandy, Utah 84090
USA

When you forward your check or money order, please include your name, address, phone number and e-mail address so we can confirm your order. Once the initial run of programs is over, there will be no more printed, so don't miss out.

Alternatively, you can order them by sending a sterling cheque/postal order for £12 to

Michael Ball Fan Club
P O Box 2073
Colchester
CO4 3WS
UK"

The charity sounds very interesting. With so many schools dropping music programs, this sounds like an excellent chance for children to be exposed to the love of music.
