According to a poster on WOS they have received a letter from the Wales Millenium Centre saying Michael Ball will be Edna from 30 March in Cardiff

There's nothing about Hairspray in Cardiff on the WMC Website as of yet, how. there seems to be nothing shceduled at the Donald Gordon for March 30th. Would be great if this new were true (:

Great news about the tour, it will give the whole of the UK a chance to see one of Londons greatest shows.
I will say now that I spoke to the company manager last night and the show is going to sitting happily at the Shaftesbury for the next 18 months!
A two way winner for a great show!
The provinces are gonna lap this one up!

London rumours Include sharron d Clarke and peter k. More than a rumour is Gavin alex (wood) coming back to be corny.
Dunno about others, not keen if we get Chicago style short stints of names for edna.

Sharon D Clarke would be absolutely amazing..
Would much prefer it if she did the tour though!.. then I may be tempted to go almost every night in Southampton!

OMG! is that true?! Sharon D Clarke in Hairspray! OMG! That wud b AMAZING! Peter Kay as Edna... he'll be fun ~ And I've only heard some gd things of Gavin Alex Wood as Corny ~

Gavin Alex's Spotlight page says he's playing Corny from October so I'm guessing it's official! He was on first time I saw the show and I thought he was excellent. Was actually quite disappointed when I saw Paul Manuel, the principal, at a later performance.

I'm a member of Michael Balls official fan club & today received an email from them confirming he is definitely going to be Edna for the tour!!! No other cast has been confirmed. Confirmed dates so far are:
Cardiff: Wales Millennium Centre for 4 weeks: 22 March- 25 April
Glasgow: SECC Clyde Auditorium for 2 weeks: 27 April - 9 May
Southampton: The Southampton Mayflower for 3 weeks: 11 May - 30 may
