My family saw Michael Cavanaugh concert last night with the Charlotte Symphony and it was excellent. He did songs from "Movin Out" but also included songs from people like Elton John, Bob Seeger, Jerry Lee Lewis and Chuck Berry. The Charlotte Symphony also played two selections from Billy Joel's classical record. If you enjoyed the music of the Broadway show "Movin Out", I would highly recommend seeing Michael Cavanaugh if his tour comes to your area. He is a great young performer and was very nice after the show signing CD's and chatting with people.
Um, in case you missed the memo -- the entire score of MOVIN' OUT is composed of Billy Joel's music catalogue; not one song was written for the show and yes.... Cavanaugh was basically performing old Billy Joel songs the entire show.
I saw "Movin Out" twice on Broadway so I know what Billy Joel songs were played for the show. Yes, nothing new was written for the show but the songs Cavanaugh played in Charlotte NC were songs that were in "Movin Out". In other words, he did not sing a Billy Joel song like "Miami 2017 - the night the lights went out on Broadway". Next time it might be better to ask for clarification of my post since it was obvious you did not read it correctly and your reponse was very condescending.

YankeeFan7, I thought your post made perfect sense. I'm glad to hear that Michael Cavanaugh is still doing well by Mr. Joel. He did a great job with that music when I saw Movin' Out. Question about the selections from the Symphony. How were the Billy Joel classical songs? I never did get around to buying that cd.
thommg - I believe they did "Waltz #1" and "Waltz #3 and they are very beautiful. I think Billy Joel did a nice job on his classical record, my wife bought the CD when it came out.
