The musical stage adaptation is written by BrianFeinstein & Eric Garcia and directed by SherriEden Barber. The musical is produced by MarissaMcMahon of Kamala Theatrical Productions and General Management, Nathan Gehan and Rebecca Crigler, ShowTown Theatricals.

Marissa McMahon, the wife of Shane McMahon and daughter-in-law of former WWE CEO Vince McMahon and Education Secretary Linda McMahon, is a producer on "Train Dreams" with the production company she cofounded, Kamala Films. The movie, streaming on Netflix, is a period drama that grabbed four Oscar nominations including best picture.
