I'm going to guess the answer is still no.
Oh well. I have a ticket for the 16th of December, but if it closes before then I won't be too bothered. In fact, I would welcome it (an extra slot for a show I wasn't expecting to open!). That's a horrible attitude.
I'm sorry.

Posted: 11/11/06 at 11:47pmIf it moves to Broadway, then I have lost complete faith in NY theater. Saw it this afternoon and thought it was one of the worst things I have ever seen in my entire life. The performances (Annie Golden, Eartha Kitt, Tom Aldredge, etc) were good for the most part, but the story is AWFUL and the music is forgettable. Honestly, if you like flops, go see this if you can get a cheap ticket, but it is really horrible and should not be open much longer.

"Not even with Eartha Kitt?!"
No, unfortunately. However, they did eventually give Eartha a song in the second act in order to keep more people in their seats after intermission.

oh lord it was bad. We went this afternoon as well, and I've been trying to remember ANY of the songs from that show.
One word to describe it, boring. The whole show is a total snooze fest.

Posted: 11/12/06 at 12:36amTons of people left during intermission this afternoon. I stayed because I don't walk out on shows...Eartha Kitt's Act 2 musical number was a real let-down. I'm sorry they didn't write her better material. She got the most applause at the end though...a real professional and classy lady. Too bad she is stuck in this dreck.

I think they should just open concerts of Eartha Kitt in that theater. Imagine the big sales.
I could watch 2 hours of just Eartha.
Talk about a brilliant idea.
The red dress she wears in Mimi is gorgeous.
They should close Mimi and instead produce a night with Eartha Kitt.
I would go.
Or even better. Divas Off Broadway.
How about this line up:
Eartha Kitt
Chita Rivera
Dame Edna
Barbara Cook
And Elaine Stritch.
A night of the best Divas.
That would be one hot ticket for New World Stages.
Elaine could sing I'm Still Here while Chita dances on a kitchen table.
Priceless.

She made the show entertaining.
I could not wait until her next number.
I hope they open a show at New World Stages for Eartha fans.
She is beyond fabulous.
She is PURRRRRRRFECT in every single way.
I wish the show was better.
