I'd love to see Kelli O'Hara as Ellen, Daveed Diggs as John, Michael Arden as Chris, Andrew Rannells as the Engineer, Lea Salonga reprise her role of Kim, and Aaron Yoo as Thuy. Would love to hear your dream cast
No more Kelli O'hara in revivals.
But I'd love to see Kelli O'hara play Kim.
.
THIS THREAD IS ALREADY A MESS
Given that it's been confirmed that the two London leads are transferring with the production, there's no need to consider casting for Kim or the Engineer.
There's not a snowball's chance that at this point in her career, Kelli O'Hara is going to except the very, very small (and thankless) role of Ellen.
Chris needs to come off as being interested in, and in love with, Kim, so that rules out Michael Arden.

Again, this is dream casting

Why does that rule out Michael Arden?
They're implying that Arden can't play straight. Which I....agree with. I mean, he hasn't had a lot of practice. The only role in which he was heterosexual that I can think of is Quasi. Even on television he played gay.
I'd love to see Aaron Tveit as Chris and Betsy Wolfe as Ellen
Hmm, I've only seen a few clips of Arden, he doesn't seem that flaming to me. Some gay actors aren't very good at playing straight, god knows, but he doesn't strike me as one. Then again I haven't seen him in much.
I would love to see him in a romantic straight role! It's just everything I've seen him in he's played a gay character. Which isn't bad. But hopefully he can break that mold someday, because he is very talented.

My dream casting would include Jon Jon Briones as the Engineer...as he is the best Engineer I have ever seen. Lucked out with this one...

Hopefully they find a great singing Ellen and Gigi this time. That seemed to be a problem in the last Broadway version.
(I'm talking about Claire Moore level)

Does Ellen have a new song in this version, or did they just replace Now That I've Seen Her? I thought I read something about that awhile back, but I could be mistaken.
LEA MICHELE as "Kim"
NICK JONAS as "Chris"
JULIANNE HOUGH as "Ellen"
SNOOKI as "Gigi"
and....
KEN WATANABE as "The Engineer"
wait a sec, is Michael Arden from Hunchback the same one that directed Sprig Awakening???
Although he's not a name, I would love for Jason Forbach to be Chris.
And with Minority Report looking to not be renewed, maybe even Stark Sands as Chris.
I can definitely see Jason Forbach in that role, and I love the idea of Betsy Wolfe for Ellen. Or even Heidi Blickenstaff.

Austin Mckenzie would make a heartbreaking Chris.
Speaking of casting, what the hell ever happened to Miss Saigon the Movie?

Yes, there is a new song called "Maybe", it replaced "Now that I've seen her".
