I loved Next to Normal, but "Light" makes the show have a faux-happy and hopeful ending. I felt the show could have been much more impactful if they had stuck with a more dramatic ending.

I thought the whole contest concept in the Little Mermaid was a little corny.

The part where I thought 'Rock of Ages' might turn into a Bar Brawl... And when I got spit on by Regina and Hertz during the 'bridge' scene.
Moving Out- When the dancer's pirouettes made sweat fly into the audience.
Tarzan- When Tarzan's rope got stuck center stage during previews.
I'm sure there are more.

COMPANY is one of my favorite musicals but I absolutely loathe the scene where Peter comes onto Bobby and asks if he is gay. It introduces an element into the show that (IMO) has nothing to do with the issues of why Bobby is afraid/wary of commitment. It then becomes just a simplistic "Oh, he doesn't want to get married because he's really gay," instead of all the nuances that were present in the original production.

ALittlePriest, I completely agree.
And I agree with re: the staging of "So Anyway." I despise the fact that Dan just sits there and does absolutely nothing.

In kind of a reverse fashion (and I know I'm in the VERY SLIM minority here) I think the first act of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE is borderline painful to get through but I enjoy the second act.
I think the show as a whole is highly overrated.

I'm in an even smaller minority. I find SITPWG painful to get through in both the 1st and 2nd acts.

The "fart-off" in Shrek. It is already a pretty lousy show, but toilet humor is the lowest of the low.

"Sweeney Todd in it's entirety is a metaphor for the government overpowering it's people and what happens when the public gets desperate. The original set was built so it made the people on stage look small. All of Sondheim's shows are a metaphor for something."
Actually, that wasn't even Prince's concept, that was Aronson's, the set designer. One of the problems of the original production was that Sondheim, Aronson, and Prince were all working from different concepts for the show. Sondheim thought the show was all about revenge.

I kind of agree, that definitely ruins it for me, but I liked the rest of it. I actually liked the show, but even when I listen to "I Think I've Got You Beat" on the CD (I like the rest of the song though) I have to change it when the "fart-off" starts, it's just gross - especially on the CD.

1. I agree with you OneDayMore. It just dragged on FOREVER!
2. Also, along the same lines, in the Wizard of Oz that regional/school companies perform, the Jitterbug sequence lasts far too long. I almost fell asleep, but I couldn't because the glare of the costumes the 'jitterbugs' were wearing was too bright.
3. Having seen All Shook Up regionaly just days ago, I must say, the last 5-10 minutes ruined they lackluster show for me. It tied it up TOO well.
4. The fact that Passion doesn't have an intermission. I was watching it a couple months ago on DVD and thought, "Ok, when the intermission happens I'll go the the bathroom." But it never came! The show as a whole I found dragged down by the dialouge, but brought up at points by the songs (which are amazing!)
5. Going along with the forth one, the Original Georgio's acting. He just sounded terribly snooty.
