Yikes! I think it would be awful. How about:
"The Happiest Millionaire- The Biddles and The Barrows" (Updated to include a sub-plot about the "Mayflower Madam" Sydney Biddle Barrows)
"Summer Magic"
"Old Yeller-The Musical"
"The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band"
"Babes in Toyland"
"The Moonspinners- A Musical Mystery"
"Merlin Jones and The Monkeys Uncle" - The Mega Musical"

Monsters Inc? That has to be somehow rigged.
Hunchback is long overdue to come to America.

Years ago, The Critic actually did a parody of someone making The Hunchback of Notre Dame into a musical. Satire eventually becomes reality, I guess.
Time for the Streetcar musical!

i actually liked the idea jimnysf said of a "Moonspinners" musical in a weird way- I liked that movie
but I think it would be more of a community theatre type of show, in my opinion, not really Broadwayish...
yeah

"Time for the Streetcar musical!"
It's been done. There was an opera version done in SF about the same time as that Simpson episode. But it wasn't as good witch is why no one knows about it.

Posted: 3/31/06 at 11:39pmI would like to see Mulan or Hercules as a musical, especially Hercules since the music is really good and could be expanded.

Not Disney, but I still think the Anastasia cartoon would make a great stage show.
How would the battles in Mulan be staged? (ie her shooting the cannon at the Huns, etc. They would have to change alot of it or it would look too cheesy)

As much as I am obsessed with TLK, Disney is freakin annoying me with all these dang musicals.
I would say Mulan and never release The Little Mermaid. :)
Aside from Disney, I think Joss Wheadon's Buffy musical should be expanded. It would be interesting, good...maybe not, but definately interesting.
ooo Anatasia could be good, plus not Disney. I liked that movie.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. POCAHANTAS!!! It's got one of the best scores and would be so cool if staged well. Plus I would kill to hear great Broadway voices perform "If I Never Knew You"
Edited for Spelling

Disney should be stopped at two shows maximum running at the same time on a broadway stage!
and with that mentined- practically ANY alan menken score would be amazing!!!!!!!
hercules and hunchback (preferably with the german "Glockner" staging) would be the bestest everest!

What i meant was that i wish
THE HUNCHBACKOF NOTRE DAME
(which had an amazingly haunting german production) should transfer to broadway and open in english...
great new songs by menken and schwartz! amazing scenery...
the CD (though in german) ranks along the best cast recordings, and epic, soaring melodious score and a great dark staging by JAPES LAPINE.... who could imagine HIM in a disney show...
so my prayers are that Disney stop banking on flying nannies and hunks in shorts, and start putting ugly, melancholy heros on the stage!
GO QUASI!

Hercules is practically written to be on stage.... Sexy leading man, fun loving sarcastic leading lady and great supporting charcters..... 5 story tellers that can rock the roof off the joint... GREAT score that can easily be expanded....
Pegasus is the only real problem but in this age of Fly Witches and Cars is probably isn't!

I was just kidding.
I am going to agree with about 75% of the people posting on this thread and say that Disney needs to be stopped. Lion King was enough.
Sorry but I just thought Lion King was boring to some extent.
Oh and if Great Mouse Detective wasn't disney I could totally see that happening

Posted: 4/1/06 at 5:46pmAnother Disney play? Well...The Little Mermaid is in the works so, I would vote for Mulan. They need to rework the story completely. It has potentials if the story is more serious than a comedy/action one. That means, no dragons and crickets.

The titles I posted were meant to be sarcastic but it seems others really want more of this on Broadway.

I think if Disney produces(and they will) another show it should be House On Pooh Corner. It has all the same familiarity and kid/family appeal that the shows they want to produce have, and would be an original addaptation rather than a movie transplant.
