If Hercules goes to Broadway I want one of the five muses to be a gay guy.

knows too much--

House On Pooh Corner

I am acutally laughing out loud. (I will not say LOL because that is teeny bopper talk)

Yeah with ALW, it depends on what he is showing. See, I liked Woman in White, but HATED Bombay Dreams...and to be frank, I am not too fond of Phantom either.

The Little Mermaid is my favorite, but it wouldn't be my first choice to be made into a Broadway musical...I'm scurred.

They should make (over time, not all at once):

Bedknobs & Broomsticks or Pete's Dragon (after Mary Poppins leaves)
Hunchback of Notre Dame (um, the music is already so amazingly Broadway) (after Beauty and the Beast leaves)

I'm liking the ideas about Moonspinners. Good movie

DO NOT MAKE:

Alladin. Too many problems with genie, magic, Abu, magic carpets, Iago. Plus the music isn't the best. No no no.

Pocahontas. Score isn't strong enough and just no.

Hercules. One of Disney's least popular animated features. Like Tarzan, it was one of the one's that sealed the deal on Disney animated features.

Tarzan. WTF! Why?

Non-disney:

Please bring Anastacia to the stage. Please please please.

I never said it would be the next great American Musical, I just think it would be interesting. I'm not impressed by "new" shows that have books transcribed from movie scripts, "scores" that are little more than movie soundtracks, and set/costume "designs" that are 3D replicas of a cartoon. None of that would work with House On Pooh Corner. It would have to be a new show created specifically for the stage. It would be more difficult, and risky, than just rehashing one of there newer movies... but with a solid book, the right score, and an original design concept(not to mention some Disney dollars)... I think they could create a show WORTHY of the buzz Taran has.

I Wish... Madeline Kahn could have played the Witch in Into the Woods. She would have rocked!

Honestly, Hercules would work really well on Broadway, and with LaChanze as one of the muses!

Roz Ryan could reprise her role as a Muse (she voiced the fat one in the movie)

i personally really wouldnt want HERCULES to come to Broadway. When I went on the Disney Cruise Line a few years ago, HERCULES was one of their live entertainment shows, and I thought it was horrible, maybe just because it was on a cruise ship, but it was painful to sit through. Now, if they brought it to Broadway, they would probably make it better, but if they draw any of it from that cruise ship performance...i am not stepping a foot into that theatre.
thank you

:)

^yes, but i think if they put it on Broadway, they'd most definately edit it a lot(not that I've seen it, but I have seen other cruise shows, some I'm sort of using those as a comparison)

and JesusUnlimited, about the flying in Aladdin, in California Adventure, for A Whole New World, they used a fog machine with lots of fog coming out(which if you ever see it, despite how it's always interesting, don't sit in the front if you want to see the scene, I was there, you see fog). For the rest of the scenes, the carpet was played by a person(it may have been played as a person in A Whole New World as well, but as stated above, I missed the whole number)

Minus my earlier stated problems with the fog machine, I enjoyed Aladdin a lot in California Adventure, by far the best show I've seen in a theme park.

If Disney brought any of their remaining properties to Broadway, I would like to see a transfer of the German Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Little Mermaid (which is on its way anyhow) but most of all...

The Nightmare Before Christmas.
This would f'in ROCK.

Kinda off-topic but I don't usually see shows at theme parks but I remember the last one I saw. It was Fantasmic at MGM Studios and I thought it was WAY over-rated. We had to get there an hour early just to get seats (it was WAY overcrowded too) and when it was over I was very dissapointed.

i agree, justchillin. i saw FANTASMIC, and enjoyed a lot of parts, but them projecting Disney clips on that water wall got a bit old after awhile...

I'd also like to see THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME. I think it would appeal to both children and adults a lot. and I still cant imagine how THE LITTLE MERMAID will turn out...hopefully Disney will figure out how to do the underwater aspect...but hey, Disney never ceases to amaze! usually

I've seen Fantasimic twice, the water projection is definately interesting the first time, but the second time, not as enjoyable. I normally watch it just for the glow in the dark parts(like the snake, and the costume, I don't know why, but I enjoy them) and the fire on water aspect(both times I've seen it, I've done the diner & Fantasmic program, and both times I've gotten absolute front, which probably makes the show a lot different considering all of it's aspects).

I just had the chance to see Fantasmic at Disneyland after previously seeing it in Orlando, and I think it was better in California - but I still question whether it's worth waiting as long as people wait to see a 25-minute sound and light show. I also saw Aladdin on this most recent trip at California Adventure, and thought it was great, especially "A Whole New World." We were in the balcony, which is very high, so the Aladdin and Jasmine doubles were soaring right in front of us, far above the people seated on the ground below.

Back on topic, I clicked on the poll results referred to in the title of this post, and with just over 80% of votes accounted for in the list, I didn't see Monsters, Inc., anywhere - am I missing something?

^That happened when I looked too, so I'm guessing the results have changed since this thread was started.

But I still don't see how the percentage wanting a Monsters Inc. musical could ever be that high. It's a cute movie, but after a certain amount of time, it goes downhill.
