With only two new scores this season, the next season is looking very strong! Maybe not all productions will open in time, but is this close to accurate?
"Paradise Found"
"Spider-Man"
"Woman/Nervous"
"Statesboro Boys"
"Yank!"
"Catch Me"
"Sister Act"
"Leap of Faith"
"Love Never Dies"
"Priscilla"
"The Book of Mormon"
Am I correct that these new musicals don't have new scores?
"Unchain My Heart"
"Josephine"
"Pure Country"

PARADISE FOUND is set to the music of Johann Strauss so isn't technically a new score, and PRISCILLA is a jukebox musical. Otherwise I think you're right (although obviously SCOTTSBOROUGH, YANK, CATCH ME, SISTER ACT and LND have all played pre-Broadway engagements by now so their scores aren't entirely new at this point)
Is anything by ALW ever original...just saying.

Was GIANT scheduled to come in next season, or later?

Yes.
I think the most interesting aspect of next season would be two Menken scores in the same season. Has that happened before? It would be amusing to see if he's competing against himself for the Tony.

LaChiusa was nominated for both MARIE CHRISTINE and THE WILD PARTY in 2000, according to Wikipedia.
Perhaps Paradise Found would fit the "and/or Lyrics" part of Best Original Score if new lyrics were written?
And that list makes me sort of hopeful for the upcoming season. Phew!

You people are forgetting Women on the Verge composed by the great David Yazbek.

Women on the Verge was included in the original post.
And yes, I forgot about LaChiusa in 2000. He should have won for Wild Party.
Yes... Wild Party... great score and wonderful interpretations from Toni Collette and Eartha Kitt. I wish I'd seen it live. It never would have won though. Sad.

"Statesboro Boys"
"although obviously SCOTTSBOROUGH"
Scottsboro Boys. Man, the variations on this are gonna drive me nuts. They didn't cover this in history class? Sad.
Is one of the low points in American history and anyone interested in equal rights should be familiar with the tragic event.
