More musical roles for Celia Keenan-Bolger

I love all she's been doing in various plays but when are we getting another performance where she will sing? Her Light in the Piazza and Sweeney were both just delightful and it's such a shame she doesn't get more singing roles.

 Amalia, Daisy/Melinda, Mabel, Fran K., Eliza, Julie J, Laurey or Ado, Crazy Amy, Nellie, any white woman in a Kurt Weill show, any younger lady in The Dead, Edies - Little and younger Big, Ragtime's Mother.

She was off the charts brilliant as Mary Flynn for Encores, a notoriously challenging role in a notoriously problematic show.

Of Lily G., Lilli V or just plain Lili, she's probably best suited to just plain Lili.
But she could easily shine as either the Baker's Wife or The Baker's Wife

I thought I read or heard that she had some vocal problems and was not planning to do more musicals?

I’m not generally the sort of person that gets choosy about whether actors are in plays or musical. If a talented actor is onstage, I’m happy just to see them onstage. But it is interesting that CKB hasn’t done a musical since Merrily (right?). That was 7 years ago! I wonder why she stopped. Maybe lack of interest? Too physically and vocally demanding now that she has a young child? A combination thereof?

A bit off-topic, but I noticed Nathan Lane also hasn’t done a musical in a long time - not since Addams Family (right?).

I believe Nathan said he was done with musicals after The Addams Family. And who can blame him after that show?

To be fair, the last musical he did before Addams Family on Broadway was Producers (from what I can tell looking at his Wikipedia page). He was doing workshops/readings for Catch Me If You Can, but never was in the show. Whether he doesn't want to be in musicals, I'm not sure, but he just seems to be more into straight plays. Maybe he's just looking for the right musical? Honestly I would be the same in his situation.

Well actually, he did The Frogs in 2004, but your point still stands. I never realized there was such a gap between musicals before Addams too.

Can anyone cite where she said she won't do any more musicals? 

I really love her and find her to be a brilliant artist.  Her Instagram stories are so inspirational and really hit home for me.

Yes! Yes! Yes! I loved her in Peter and the Starcatcher (not a musical really, more like play with music hehe), I would love to see her in more musicals, especially musical comedies!
