re: Most Romantic Broadway Lyrics

From Titanic's "Proposal/Night was Alive"...

"Fare thee well
May the Lord who watches all
Watch over thee
May God's Heaven be your blanket
As you softly sleep
Marry me
When you're finally in my arms
You'll plainly see
This devoted sailor's heart and soul
Are yours to keep
Yours to keep...

Those people joined with a single heartbeat"

re: Most Romantic Broadway Lyrics

"I will never understand what I did to deserve you, or how to be the man that I'm supposed to be. I will never understand if I live a thousand lifetimes, why you did the things you've done for me. Just look at you how could I not be in love with you. What kind of fool could have taken you for granted for so long?"

I could list the entire song....ahhh such a beautiful and powerful song from Parade.

I also love the lyrics to the reprise of "If I Loved You". The whole "now I've lost you..." really gets to me.

"If Ever I Would Leave You" from Camelot and "This Nearly Was Mine" and "Some Enchanted Evening" from South Pacific are also great.

Oh! and did I mention "So In Love" from Kiss Me, Kate....geez you can tell I am a sucker for romantic songs!
"You pile up enough tomorrows, and you'll find you are left with nothing but a lot of empty yesterdays. I don't know about you, but I'd like to make today worth remembering." --Harold Hill from The Music Man

re: Most Romantic Broadway Lyrics

"The reappearing, every now and then,
And then, the diving underneath,
The diving down and surfacing again.
I am suddenly alone,
I would sail across the world to know the harbor of your arms."

"The shock of winter, the coming on of spring,
That melting air,
The sun gone red, an empty bed,
A scent, a sound, a gesture trigerring;
'I am suddenly alone, I am suddenly alone.'
Knowing I will be alone til I can be alone with you.
That is what you do. You appear."

Piazza, obviously. Only time I have cried from lyrics alone. They are so expressive, they just break my heart.

"Loving you is not a choice. It's who I am."
What's pink and green and flies all over?

re: Most Romantic Broadway Lyrics

All my wildest dreams
multiplied by two,
they were you
they were you
they were you.

Fantastiks
Perhaps it was not a dream.

"I Have a Love" from West Side Story

I have a love, and it's all that I have
Right or wrong, what else can I do?
I love him; I'm his,
And everything he is
I am too
I have a love and it's all that I need
Right or wrong, and he needs me too
I love him, we're one
There's nothing to be done
Not a thing I can do
But hold him
Hold him forever
Be with him now tomorrow
And all of my life
When love comes so strong,
There is no right or wrong
Your love is your life

Also, "I'll Cover you" from Rent:

All my life
I've longed to discover something as true as this is
So with a thousand sweet kisses
When you're cold and you're lonely
With a thousand sweet kisses
You've got one nickel only
With a thousand sweet kisses
When you're worn out and tired
With a thousand sweet kisses
When your heart has expired
Oh, lover, I'll cover you
