Monestere: Your song choices are wonderful and span so many great and not so great musicals over the years. I particularly love "Secret Love" as sung by Doris Day and "Namely You" from the under-rated L'LL ABNER score, even if the part of the song sung by Abner is a tribute to himself. Also great is "Love Look Away" from another under-rated score, from FLOWER DRUM SONG.

I would add "Young and Foolish" from 1955's PLAIN & FANCY as well as "You'll Never Get Away From Me" from GYPSY, "I'll Buy You A Star" from A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN(1951) and the title song from FANNY(1954).

My favorite love songs are the post romance love songs, the ones that lament the loss of passion in a relationship that one finds they can’t live without. My favorite love songs (not all from musicals):

Could I Leave You? – Follies
You Don’t Send Me Flowers Anymore – by Barbra Streisand

And my favorite anti love song:
