For the people who call perfect voices "boring", I would say; It's not the flaws that make a voice good.
The clips of performances I posted are in my opinion "perfect" because of the story they are telling, the emotion, the sound, the placement of the notes, the rising of the notes, the intonation, the right emotion in every note, but still keep their true sound and on top of that having the most beautiful sound, therefore these performances leave me breathless. True art.
That is very rare. Audra Mc Donald sounds removed from her real voice and Linda Eder does not know how to convey emotions with the intonation of her notes, it sounds too distant and technical.
I agree that Julie Andrews is close to perfect too, as well as Karen Carpenter. They know what their true voice is, and know how to tell a story and convey the exact right emotion and still handle their voice so well that the notes are perfect too.
