All the ones I can think of are Sondheim!
Losing My Mind
Not a Day Goes By
Finishing the Hat
Being Alive
But my all-time favorite would have to be I'm Still Here.

I vote for the aforementioned songs from Les Mis, and also the finale. I'm moved every time I listen to it.

I literally cannot listen to Nobody Needs to Know from L5Y. I think it is one of the most beautiful songs ever written, but the song itself is too filled with emotion for me.
Beyond talent lie all the usual words: discipline, love, luck- most of all endurance.

Amen, Classic. It's competing for my favorite song in musical history.
God. It's just perfect.

My all time fave ballad is "Sarah" from THE CIVIL WAR. One of the most haunting, touching tunes i've ever heard; makes the hair on the back of my neck stand straight up. Did anyone get to see this show during it's original run and if so, what was the impact of this lovely song on the audience? Also, some feedback on the show itself would be much appreciated.
Brush up your Shakespeare, and they'll all kow-tow!
