Posted: 1/4/10 at 5:08amMr. & Mrs. Fitch starring John Lithgow and Jennifer Ehle opens on Jan. 26 at the Second Stage Theater. Does anyone know if there are discounts floating around for this one?

Not familiar with this theater. Looking at the seating chart there appear to be boxes, but they aren't shown. Can anyone tell me a little about the seating at the theater?
Thanks!

Posted: 1/4/10 at 9:00amIt's very square with a pretty steep rake. Not a bad seat in the house unless you are in the front row seeing something like Next to Normal, which has a very tall set. Otherwise, not a bad seat. The "box" if you can call it that, is only on house left, but the sightlines are terrible. Have you ever been to Playwright's Horizons Mainstage Theatre, Sally?

Posted: 1/4/10 at 10:09am2nd Stage is a square. Any seat is good, though I prefer the middle to the last few rows, which feel like Siberia, since you're so high up.

Posted: 1/6/10 at 1:03pmI called the Box Office and they didn't have any discount information available, so I went ahead and bought tickets at full price. Looking forward to this show.

Posted: 1/6/10 at 5:20pmI'm thinking it may not wind up on TDF because Lithgow is coming off an amazing performance in Dexter, but I bet it shows up there at least once sometime during the run....

Theatremania has a $49 code listed. I discovered it today right after I bought a full price ticket and then also discovered this thread. Well, you win some, you lose some.

Posted: 2/9/10 at 7:58amNot sure I agree that all seats are good at Second Stage. I did the $15 rush and got on the side balcony basically on a stool in the back. I was eventually allowed to move up to the railing, but had the original people showed up it would have been an obstructed view.

Posted: 2/9/10 at 4:02pmYes, that "balcony" is actually a sort of cubby hole to the side of the extreme left seats. I would avoid them if at all possible.
