Mullally, Foster and Hensley set for Young Frankenstein!

Posted: 3/9/07 at 10:04amAt the level these actors are at, we're talking a minimum of $30K-$60K just for the pilot. It's a VERY reasonable risk to take.

Has Foster done any pilots/been offered TV work?
Not necessarily now. I mean, at all.
She's a consistent performer and I'm surprised to hear no one from the TV world has tried to recruit her. Perhaps she has but has turned them down.
She is certainly on her way to becoming a Merman-esque theatre star.

This cast is already awesome, if they can keep Roger Bart and Andrea Martin, then it will be incredible! I'm so excited for this one.
Glad they were able to get Megan. It will be good to have her back on the boards.

Posted: 3/9/07 at 11:24amCan someone give me the link to the Reidel article that says this?

Posted: 3/9/07 at 11:26amI also want to know about Brian D'Arcy James!!! I think he is so incredibly talented and a great fit for this!

Why is Brian D'Arcy James no longer being considered????
My thoughts exactly. Someone told me that Brian said "They wanted a star" at the Apple Tree stagedoor. Which makes me quite sad. The guy does not get enough credit.
Who would play you in the movie? "Taye Diggs." --Brian d'Arcy James

UGH.
He's right on the brink, and a role like this would give him that opportunity. I'm so sad to hear that.

Posted: 3/9/07 at 11:33amIf D'Arcy James isn't still being considered (I don't know if that's the case), it could be because they want a bigger name if they can get it.

Posted: 3/9/07 at 11:37am^ That's probably most definitely the case. But I still think it sucks. I love me some d'Arcy.

DAMMIT!
I was hoping that I would see Kristin play this role on Broadway since she idolizes Madeline Kahn. But when Megan leaves the show, I hope that Kristin is the replacement.

Posted: 3/9/07 at 11:42amperhaps if her pilot doesn't work out...although even then, i doubt it.

No, I have to replace her. Madeline Kahn is my goddess.

Posted: 3/9/07 at 11:46amSorry to break any hearts, but I highly doubt Kristin Chenoweth would replace anybody in anything at this point. She, like Sutton Foster, is Opening Night Lead Material.

Posted: 3/9/07 at 11:59amThat is so ridiculous! Yet they auditioned Raul Esparza? What do they consider a star exactly? The other names mentioned certainly are not "stars". According to Riedel's article a few months ago, he killed at the reading. Eric McCormack would be a terrible choice.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Megan and Sutton in one show...I must be dreaming.
Wasn't Raul Esparza supposedly up for a role as well?

Posted: 3/9/07 at 12:09pmWhile they're at it with W & G cast members, if Roger Bart's and Andrea Martin's pilots goes to series, Sean Hayes can play Igor and Shelley Morrison can play Frau Blucah. Don't know what they can do with Debra Messing though? lol
