Music Box Theater seating

Wanting to purchase tickets for Dear Evan Hansen. Would you recommend row J in the orchestra, or 1st row center mezzanine? Price is the same for both options. Thanks!

I really like the first-row mezzanine at the Music Box. Great view. Leg room not too bad, as I remember.

The Music Box has the best mezzanine on Broadway, can't go wrong.

The Music Box is a small theater where you can't really go wrong with either seat. I saw Pippin from the last row in the orchestra and I thought it was a great seat. My personal preference is to sit in the Orchestra whenever possible but others prefer front mezz. You don't say where the seat is in each of those rows you're considering. If one is a lot more towards the center of the row than the other, I'd probably opt for that.

The mezzanine would be center section pretty much dead center in Row 1. For the orchestra, I was leaning towards right orchestra row J, seats 2&4 which would be the 1st two seats on the aisle. That way a bit of an angle towards the stage that may prevent getting stuck behind a tall person. Always a bit torn, as ideally we would prefer orchestra, but always the risk of having sight lines being a problem. Obviously with Row 1 mezz that's not an issue.

If you prefer the orchestra, I would recommend sitting in one of the last two rows, because they are each bumped up a bit. There is a stair you have to climb up to get into the row. That is probably why Uncle Charlie liked the view so much. They are Row O and Row P.

I LOVE the mezzanine at the Music Box.

How is Row C Center Orcherstra? That's what I'm currently looking at because I love being close to the actors. Is the stage too high or is it fine?

It is often pretty high, IMO. It was definitely very high for Pippin, Shuffle, Heidi Chronicles and (going back much further) the LaBete revival w/Mark Rylance, David Hyde Pierce & Joanna Lumley. I sat in the front row for the latter & never saw anyone's footwear.
