You could look into songs from "Just So" and "Honk," both by Stiles and Drewe. "Just So" is a collection of Kipling's stories, and "Honk" is about The Ugly Duckling.
It never made Broadway, but Maltby/Shire's CLOSER THAN EVER features a great song called "The Bear, The Tiger..." that was cut from BABY. It's literally a list song about the mating habits of different animals and one of Maltby/Shire's most clever songs.
