I'm surprised that there isn't a thread about this already. I keep searching and I can only find lists of musicals good for high schools to do as opposed to musicals with high school themes.

Calvin Berger is a fantastic little 4 person musical set in highschool. It is a retelling of Cyrano de Bergerac.

Glory Days, while set after the first year of college, deals a lot with what the guys went through in high school and is set on their high school football field.
