Bryan had little-to-no life after Cry-Baby's original production...

Anyway, there have been surprisingly few productions of Fiorello! after its original Broadway staging, at least in my area. Not to say there haven't been any, of course, but I know that no high schools in the DC metropolitan area put it on in the last ten years, and I haven't heard of any recent regional productions.

COCO

Is BARNUM is done?

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I saw a dinner theatre production of Barnum once. Only because a friend was in it.

Anyone know of any regional theaters doing a production of Baby. I really like the music and would love to see the show.

If you go to mtishows.com and go to Baby's page, you can find any regional productions happening.

Kismet!
I wish I could've caught it at Encores, but I love the recording. How different is Timbuktu?

Has there ever been a regional production of "The Magic Show"? How could you do it without the original illusions? Or rather, why would you...

There was a pretty well recieved production in chicago a year or two ago of Fiorello. I think the little life shows now are Kismet and Applause.

Yea, a production of Fiorello was done last fall here in Texas.

My first thought was "Hallelujah, Baby" followed by "Passion."

They did Kismet in England about two years ago... it was a horrible, painful flop, though.

Im glad that Grey Gardens has had alot of life after it closed. Why do the creators of Carrie not allow it to be produced. I am sure lots of theatres would kill to do it.

I believe High FIdelity is having a sit-down "local" production for a while in Chicago.

The Dead was performed for a few Xmas' in a row at the Court in Chicago.

And didn't Northlight Theatre (again, Chicago area) recently do Grey Gardens?

Buttrio Square was the title.

Some of the shows mentioned in previous threads were presented at the Musicals in Mufti series: Darling of the Day (twice), A Doll's Life, Me and Juliette, Grind.

Encores presented No Strings and Applause.
