Hey Everyone! My school's spring musical is undecided and I thought that perhaps the people on Broadwayworld will help them to decide on which to pick. My school has little to no guys. Thereare only 3 strong male performers (including me) in my school. Is there a musical out there that is able to accommodate a mostly female with like 4 maybe 5 guy (only 3 are strong performers) cast? Thank you everyone!
NINE (one guy)
LITTLE WOMEN has more girls than men
QUILTERS (an excellent all-woman show, that can be small or large)
those come to mind first...
SWEET CHARITY is also heavily female, and one recent production had one actor play all of Charity's love interests, too...
This is the big problem at every single high school and college in the world. If you ask the question on the student board, you'll probably get some pretty good ideas. TxT's suggestions are all good ones too!

Go to www.darienfilms.com and look at Madison Avenue, the subliminal musical. It can be done with a cast of five. Three males, two females. That is the cabaret version. One comic character plays multiple roles.
That can be added to with more chorus, breaking down the roles of the comic character into individual roles.
The score is written out in lead sheet form, with the bass part written out as well. There is a cast CD. Samuel French has the rights but you can deal directly with me for permissions.
The dress is office contemporary, with a few exceptions: dancing lemons, bullfighter, etc. But these costumes can be throw overs the underlying contemporary costumes.
Easy to do and lots of fun.

Do you want the whole THING to be small cast or just have only a few men's roles?
Tough on any account as the chorus numbers will expect there are male singers, as well.
