I hope Sutton and Norbert win.

I think Spamalot is gonna get creamed by DRS...and I think McGovern might pull through for Little Women

DRS is a great score. Bee is a terrific score. Piazza is one of the best ever written.

Who you THINK will win and who WILL win are 2 different things. Foster likely won't win, as she's been awarded recently and Clark has had a much longer career and is showing a dramatic stregth she hasn't show before.

I think Piazza probably has a lock on best score.

True Bobby...we have to be clear as to what we WANT and what we think WILL happen.

For example...I'd like Christina to take home the award, but i'm fairly certain that Victoria will.

Exactly Princeton. It's not the People's Choice awards. If it were, it would be a whole different ballgame.

Read Mandelbaum's latest columns, he's been fairly spot on.

I am sure though, that there will be a few surprises come nominations and awards day. But some categories have some pretty clear winners. There can always be a surprise, as I think some voters assume someone is going to win so they give there vote to another nominee. If enough people do this, there can be quite a few surprises.

This seems to be yet another year in which the Tonys will be evenly distributed. Since Bee will most likely be the best reviewed show of the year, Im hoping it could be a dark horse in some of these categories.
My thoughts on Spam? Best Musical and possibly Supp Actress. Thats about it here.

DRS? Actor and maybe direction of a musical?

TLITP? Actress, possibly score, probably sets and orchestrations.

As I said, I think Bee deserves Score, Book, and Musical. We'll see what the critics have to say tomorrow!

While I'm quite sure that "Bee" will get glowing reviews and possibly Brantley's major rave for the season, I'm thinking that after the "Ave. Q/Wicked" fiasco last year, the big prize might go to a blockbuster a la "Spamalot" or "DRS," rather than the 'little shows that could' like "Piazza" or "Bee." Just my thoughts...

All robbed of well deserved Tony Awards for "The Full Monty."
And I wanted to punch Mel Brooks up there on the stage gloating as he picked up each of his 305,304 Tonys for a mediocre show that only comes close to working with it's original leads.

If Spamalot gets best score, I will poop all over the Shubert theatre. NO offense to Spamalot, but it is a gimick show. Piazza is the most original, artistic score of the season. I think Bee should get best book, as it is a clever, hysterical masterpiece.

Sadly, I am thinking Spam may take best musical. MItchell definetly deserves that long awaited Tony. With 2 shows this year, I am sure he will get it (hopefully for La Cage). At least I hope. I think your predictions for the 4 musical acting categories are pretty spot on Princeton.

Nothing would make me happier than to see Matt Morrison take home a Tony for "Piazza" Bobby. He blew me away in that show. So did O'Hara..but I feel her competition is too strong. Look for a Jan Maxwell upset in that category...it could happen.

I hope that Sherie takes home the Tony for DRS. She was great in it! Didn't get to see Piazza as it was previewing when I was in NYC. Loved the Spelling Bee book. Hope that wins. I think Butz is a shoe-in for lead Actor. It'll be interesting to see the nominees on the 9th

I'm glad someone else mentioned O'Hara. Though her competition is too strong, I was VERY impressed with her...and Sarah Uriate Berry, even in the ridiculously short amount of stage time she had.

Sorry just saw Bee tonight and will probably be posting this on different threads, but I've not yet seen Spamalot, but so far I definitely think that DRS should win musical, LITP should win score and Bee should win Book. Not that any of this will necessarily happen, but again what I feel deserves it most.

DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS Is the Best all around well formulated Musical of the season, and hopefully the Tony Voters will not be blinded by the $$$ show taking place at the Shubert!

My own predictions (stated many times before) are that there's going to be a real spread the wealth thing going on, with Spamalot taking home the only award that matters to the gigantic block of roadshow voters (You're in trouble when the biggest group of voters for an award of NEW YORK shows come from out of state).

Best Actor/Musical: Norbert
Best Actress/Musical: Victoria Clark (Sherie Rene Scott and Christina Applegate will have to content themselves with nominations this time, but at least Scott will be recognized this year after her horrible snub in Aida).
Best F. Actor/Musical: Dan Fogler (although Christian Borle is also a favorite here)
Best F. Actress/Musical: Ramirez (in spite of the weird snub from some other awards nominations)
Best Book: Spelling Bee - William Finn
Best Score: Piazza - Adam Guettel
Best Musical: Spamalot.
I do think there is a SMALL chance that Piazza or Bee could win Best Musical.

I swear Little Women may not have been a very good show--but I think it deserves a set Tony, and SUTTON ALL THE WAY!!

I saw Sherie, and MAN she was great, but I vote Sutton :)
