Likely for the archives (unless I'm forgetting that they've been done already).
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

It is probably for the Lincoln Center archives, which I am immensely grateful for. This is Dame Diana Rigg's last week, and so it was their last chance to capture a (mostly) intact cast.

A friend of mine was at the show a while back and some lady was not feeling very well and she collapsed and fell against an usher who was toppled to the ground. My friend said it was one of the funniest things he had ever seen, The poor usher did not know what had hit him,

So...your friend is an insensitive jerk with a infantile sense of humor? And this has what to do with the topic of the show being taped?

I'm not sure which is worse...your friend's reaction to two people in need of help or your posting the story for absolutely no reason.

Sometimes certain situations just give people the giggles. The woman did not slink to the ground suddenly. She was putting on a performance in the lobby of sorts and the usher was more or less over her.....and then she toppled him to the ground. I was not like she had a heart attack and everyone thought it was funny.
And what does it matter if the situation had nothing to do with taping My Fair Lady. Lord get a life. I hate it when people chastise other people's contributions like they are an old biddy school teacher.

All you told us was that a woman collapsed because she wasn’t feeling well and it was one of the funniest things your friend had ever seen...so your initial telling of the story is completely different with this new information.

You’re literally responding to a thread specifically about the filming of the show, so this “contribution” (if you can actually call it that) is irrelevant? There are other general threads about the show you could have added this story to, if you really thought it was that great of a story to share...

How do you know that woman's condition to say whether or not she was seriously suffering from an ailment that caused her to collapse? It may look like she was putting on a show, but your body can react in ways that doesn't care how it looks to other people.

If you want to know how fast a thread can derail...
As for the filming, it would be a dream come true if we can get the Lauren Ambrose version on PBS or in movie theaters. However, I do think You Did It would be a challenging scene to capture on film. There are two sets of actions happening and the same time, and intercutting them, if not done right, would seem manipulative and jarring to some extent.

As it happens, I was there the evening this incident occurred. The lady who collapsed, was diabetic, and from what I was told, collapsed due to some sort of complications.
The usher who was “toppled upon” was fine, but clearly concerned and shaken. How this event would provoke laughter or amusement, is beyond my understanding.
