No full orchestra? On a Les Miz tour? Is that a new thing?
It's always been that way. If they're in a city longer than five weeks, then they hire local musicians. If not, then it's just the ones they tour with.
^^ Ah, like "augmenting" with local musicians? Got it. :)
Maybe Tel Aviv....but I know the Japanese production is the second largest to the English ones...
Largest in terms of popularity, running, etc.
Hey BSo- Mo and I want to go to D.C. during winter break.
The tour is going to be there in December I think.

I opened up my World Cultures yextbook today (A shocker, I know!) and there was a picture of a Playbill from Les Mis.

Does no one click my links?
I was right.
Tokyo came a few months beofre Tel Aviv.
Belgium Recording - nothing spectacular. It was OK.
Denmark - very, very, very weak.

Oz! Im getting more and more obsessed again as the summer goes on!

I hate that recording. The median age of the "younger" leads seems to be 40, and they all sing like they're on some kind of horse tranquilizer.
Perfectly said, Lizzie.
Now, Hungarian and Korean are the next two!
Do you have the Hungarian or Korean casts? I have been looking for them forever without any luck! I have all the recordings except for those two...
List out what you have....see what else I am missing besides Korean, Hungarian, Japanese Green, Orange, that weird Blue....
Actually it's in print still- www.amazon.fr - do a search for Les Miserables and you'll see the Paris Revival cast! It's a reprint but the music is EXACTLY THE SAME. Don't let jerks on ebay sell it to you for a ridiculous price because it's about $35 with shipping in USD and people on eBay will sell it to you for $80.
Yup there are six Japanese recordings now- red, blue, purple, green, orange, light blue. I have all but purple and orange because footlight.com hasn't shipped them yet! LoL. It's good to hear the changes. And finally you get to hear it w/o the cuts of the red and blue casts! Worth the money I think.
Awww Kaho's my favorite Eponine! She puts so much emotion into the part.
hey, post your list.
Or PM me...I think I'm only missing 5.
Randal Keith IS Valjean! I have a framed autographed picture of his in my room on the wall!
I hate how Colm does that annoying thing at the end of long, high notes. I don't even know how to describe it in typing.. nyah! Something like that. It's really annoying.
I hardly ever listen to the OLC because I find it boring compared to the rest.
Favorite Eponines:
Jane Comerford (Vienna)
Frances Ruffelle (Broadway)
Kaho Shimada
