First off I have two words. Amazing. Long.
The show was an emotional trip. I went in with these preconceived notions of the actors, I knew their styles. Every single person just blew me away tonight. I'll start by cast-
Alexander Gemignani- What a voice. He looked so strong, powerful, and everything about him was spot on.
Norm Lewis- It was impossible to hate this man. I wanted to hate his character, honestly, I did, but he is such an amazing singer, and I couldn't hate him.
Daphne Rubin-Vega- I liked her. Her voice was raspy, but it wasn't bad, per se. She was not your average singer, and put so much heart and emotion into it. She was so... raw.
Celia Keenan-Bolger- Oh. My. God. This woman made me cry my eyes out. She is so adorable. She seemed so pained, and dirty, and cold. Her singing was perfect, and I lost it at On My Own. I was just a mess, and I just cried and cried and cried. She was my favorite part of the show. (All right. I admit it. She's my favorite part of any show.) Brava. This woman needs a Tony.
Ali Ewoldt- Ok, seeing as I loved Eponine, I didn't want to like Cosette. She was just too plain. I didn't believe she loved Marius. Sorry.
Speaking of Marius, Adam Jacobs was so amazing. I loved his performance, and his part of A Little Fall of Rain made me cry so much.
The Thenarndiers- They were so funny, and truly brought down the house.
Aaron Lazar- I loved him in Piazza, I loved him in this. He was just good. I just wish there was more material for him to work with, his part is sort of tiny.
The kids- Young Cosette had a cold, I guess. All through Castle she was coughing, and clearing her throat. She was pretty off. Gavroche was so funny, and very likeable (by the way, I had Kylie as Cosette, and Brian D'Addario as Gavroche.)
Ok, This was my first time seeing the show. I just had so much agony as I watched this show. I was crying and laughing. It waslike a rollercoster. Parts of it were hokey, but I still loved it all. And I knew it was going to be good, and I was proved right. Wow. Wowie Wow Wow.
AND CELIA KEENAN BOLGER BETTER GET A TONY FOR THIS. She better.
I pray to God every day that I have the entire revival cast on Saturday night when i see it!!! (esp. Gary, Celia, and Daphne!)

If you were at tonight's show, it was Tess Adams as Cosette, not Kylie.
God hates you if you get understudies.
I went when Alexander was still out,
We got the program was there were SO many little white slips of paper bearing cast changes in the playbill.
My friends, who knew full well I went on this trip with the school to see Gary, started flipping out with me.
Haha, it was all good though
it was the names of the kids and Jean Valjean who would be there.
I hope all goes well for you MovieGuy1031! =)

Oops. I didn;t realize. I was so freaked out because an ensemble member was out (Jeff Kready, I think?) but it didn't end up really mattering. I guess God hates me.
Haha, I don't know if he Hates you.
When did you see it?
JustaBroadwaybaby! Oh, I can relate to your feelings.
I felt the same way you did. Like a rollercoaster, I laughed and
I cried all night when I first this Oct.27th. I have been back
so far twice and I will be going again Thanksgiving Night. I can't get enough of this amazing cast.
Celia blew me away, I cried and cried, I felt so bad for her.
Alex, need I say anymore, I love this man and his voice.
AAron, he was amazing, and Norm, I felt the same way you did.
I could not hate him, I loved his voice and his presence.
Truly Amazing!! So glad there is someone out there who feels the same way I do about this performance and the actors.

*lol* It seems virually unanimous: Celia, Aaron, Alex and Gary & Jenny are incredible. I am so glad you liked Celia and the show. It is my all time favorite show and I am proud of the revial and the cast.
I loved Celia so much when I saw her a few weeks ago. She has such a beautiful voice and is a fine actress. And EponineAmneris: I love the avatar!

Eponine- Do you mind if I steal your avatar?
So many understudies so soon? I wish I could feel as swept away as everyone else. Maybe I'll have to see it again.

What site did you get it off of, just out of curiosity?
Oh, and does anyone else think that Celia needs a Tony? I think so.
It's originally from the NYT, but here's a link to the actual pictures.
