Someone please restrain me before I sell the car!

I just wonder if it's cutting into the money earmarked for your other habit...
Zing! No, both habits are getting equal attention.
Hi Bobby!
Acceptance is the first step.
By the way, when is our next meeting? I'll bring the coffee if you bring the doughnuts!
How do you afford cast recordings & gas?!
WHo needs to drive when I can listen to PRETTYBELLE or OVER HERE?
I put all the Frank Wildhorn recordings in the tank, and it burns real good!

Hi, BobbyBubby! I'm also a fellow sufferer. However, I take it a step further.
Hi, my name is SorryGrateful and I can't stop buying Sondheim recordings. I'm afraid of what will happen when I run out of ones to buy. Will I lose the will to live? Of course, there are always the revivals, of which I only have one, and foreign productions. I don't know where I can find them, but I am determined.
At the next meeting of Cast Recording Collectors Anonymous (CRCA), we're going to discuss which recording of Follies is best.
Also, we're going to choose graphics for our first newsletter. Our lead story: "Soundtracks and other dirty words"...
Oh I love you all! Why are we having a support group for a problem we don't want to kick?
I don't have to find Jesus at these meetings do I?
Okay, it's official! MEF, I heart you too!
I just made an entry in my blog about the various Follies recordings. I think I decided the Papermill one was the best, though the original's performances can't be touched.

Ew, not Jesus.
Hey, Gov! Haven't seen you in a while.
Wonder, I've always hearted you!
Does anybody else LOVE Julia McKenzie's Sally?
I can't resist the lovely London recording (recommended by our own MEF) lately.

Am I a bad Sondheim fan if I don't really like Follies? I respect it and appreciate it, but I'm not so much into it. Phew, I feel better for getting this off my chest.
Not a bad Sondheim fan. Give it another chance though. It didn't hit me when I first listened to it, but now it's one of my favorites.

I've listened to it many times and I've got Follies in Concert and I've also read "Everything Was Possible" by Ted Chapin (which is FASCINATING). I've just never connected with it as I have the majority of his other shows. However, I do think "Could I Leave You" and "Buddy's Blues" are amazing. Oh, and "Losing My Mind." I haven't given up on it yet.

There comes a point in every cast album collector's life when the realization strikes that one is buying simply to buy, but not buying for quality.
Realizing when that point is reached and stopping is what separates the true collector of musical theatre scores from the musical theatre nut.
Pray for guidance that you, too, can learn when you've reached the point when discernment should take hold.

I don't know that I could ever stop though.

All hail, Jose', today's voice of reason.
I love Follies, but I obviously can't relate to it because of my age. I can imagine that when I'm around the age of the four main characters, it will resonate a lot more (PalJoey said that never fully understood "The Road You Didn't Take" until he was Ben's age).
And Hey Mef! You're right, Julia makes a great Sally.

I'm not even close to being the age of Buddy, Phyllis, Ben or Sally and I can relate to it completely.
My name is Alfonzo, aka CastAlbumFan. I too can't stop buying cast recordings. If loving cast recordings is wrong, I don't wanna be right!
I'm a sucker for the FOLLIES IN CONCERT RCA CD myself, but I adore the original Capitol CD! Alexis Smith's "Could I Leave You?" is unparalled!
I think our discussion at our next meeting should be which revival recordings are better than the original cast recordings.
