I would be very surprised (and disappointed) if Gonzalez took the slot away from Butler.

It's not like Butler has even ever been nominated in the past.

She is receiving the best reviews of her career with XANADU.

Gonzalez is barely mentioned in reviews.

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

But I don't think you can go by reviews.

If that was the case, they might as well hand all the awards to Passing Strange right now, and most of you don't even think the show could get a win.

Exactly, Wanna Be A Foster.

The nomination should be Kerry's. I'll be fuming if she doesn't get one.

I can understand the logic in giving a nomination to Gonzalez, in that she has never created a role before, but why take a slot away from Butler, who has never received a nomination before? I could however see perhaps not nominating Faith Prince and sticking Gonzalez in there.

I don't think Mandy Gonzalez has much of a shot of being nominated. She was my favorite performer in IN THE HEIGHTS and I would love to see her get a nod but I don't see it happening.

It's going to be Prince, LuPone, Butler, Russell, O'Hara.

Gonzalez is obviously the only alternative nominee, but I think she is a very, very dark horse at this point. As was already mentioned, she was hardly mentioned in reviews and was overshadowed by the praise for DeJesus, Meridez, and of course, Miranda who will be really tough competition for Szot.

Olga Merediz is the only single performer I was completely taken with in In the Heights and I LOVE THE SHOW. It's an ensemble piece and truthfully I feel Mandy should have been put in featured actress-it was a stupid move to put her where they did. I highly doubt she'll be nominated and it is even less likely she'll win.

And, Kelli O'Hara is real competition for Patti, too. She is fantastic in a really spectacular show. Don't count her out just yet.

YF will be noticed alot more than Xanadu, I believe. The critics may not have liked YF, but then again critcs walked all over Wicked. Not comparing YF and Wicked at all, but you can't assume YF won't get anything because some writer thought it was terrible

No, the majority of the people that reviewed it thought it was mediocre at the very best.

Out of all of the potential nominees for Best Musical, other than "TLM", it received the worst reviews, by far.

No way that it deserves to be mentioned in the same breathe as "Xanadu", given the reviews for both.

Amen!

And tonight's performance was BRILLIANT. They played to a sold out audience who was really into it. The performances were very strong. They are certainly making a strong case as to why they should be nominated. It was wonderful!

Go Xanadu!
