Hmmm... Gap commercials? I hope she can live up to the legacy left by Michael Bennett and Michael Peters from the stage show. Those are tough dance shoes to fill.

Fatima is choreographing? She'll be wonderful! She knows her stuff. I just hope they get all the principal casting right...

oh wow fatima is great..she did alot of Aaliyah's choregraphy for, "Try Again", "ROck the Boat", " More than a Woman"...her moves are very smooth yet intricate...it should be a great collaboration....she also did the dance numbers in Lackawana Blues.....so thats kool kool

Popular, that's really awesome, tell your friend congrats. Oh, and count me as another that didn't realize the dancing people in the iPod commercials were real people. And yay about Fatima, I remember she used to choreograph for the Backstreet Boys back in the day and they had all these interviews with her. I think she was in a few of their videos as well.

Tamyra Gray needs to keep away from "And I Am Telling You," I'm still trying to get that horrible H&M commercial out of my head. I just think whoever is cast as Effie has a lot to live up to and from all I've heard from Tamyra Gray, she couldn't do it.

AngusN, I've heard a few different versions of her singing "And I'm Telling You" and to me, it seems like she's trying too hard to imitate Jennifer Holliday instead of trying to make the song her own. If they want the movie Effie to just imitate Jennifer Holliday, there are plenty of drag queens out there that can do a better job than Tamyra Gray.

Fatima is an uber-talented choreographer. In addition to doing almost ALL Aaliyah's videos, she did michael jackson's, "remember the times" video. which was fantastic. she also choreographed all the dance numbers in "Save the last dance". very good choice for this movie.

I'm not familiar with her work, but I figured Bill Condon and David Geffen would choose wisely.
