"Most of you said made no sense appeared to come from a prepubescent girl that's why we asked"
That makes no sense... What are YOU saying?

Yes. I mean you.
You have trouble writing coherent setences...

Posted: 2/17/09 at 11:23pmI thought he was talking to nexttoelectric because what he said didnt even begin to make sense. Do I really not make sense like him? Or is it just because I am in high school you dont respect my opinion. I think you should give me a chance because even though I am in high school I still have opinions and I know what I am talking about. Im 16 not 8.

Posted: 2/17/09 at 11:24pmok you wrote "are you prepubescent? or whatever that means" i think that is why he was talking to you... is it really that difficult to understand?

Posted: 2/17/09 at 11:27pmIt looked like it was spelled wrong and I erased it. I know what that means, get off my back!

I think it is wonderful when young people come to this message board to offer opinions and, in the process, maybe learn a thing or two about Broadway today and Broadway of the past. But, some of the geezers on here are intent on browbeating the younger set. Maybe it's a "beat them down so I can feel bigger" sort of thing. I fear the headline of the future that says, "Death of Broadway Theatre traced to message board on BroadwayWorld.com". If I were a young person with an interest in theatre, I would be afraid to offer an opinion in here, and might even lose my interest in theatre, thinking ALL theatre lovers are just plain mean. But, luckily, I'm an OLD theatre lover and have
a thicker skin.

"How old are you?"
HAHAHAHA!!!!!
bwaygirl99...Just so you know, South Pacific was not nominated for best score last year. The noms went out to "Xanadu" "Gypsy" "Sunday in the Park with George" and "Passing Strange." "Gypsy" obviously won.

Cory.
I'm sure you're referring to me but this has NOTHING to do with age.
16 or 40... if you start a big thread about the Tonys, at least do some fact checking first.
Writing in coherent sentences doesn't hurt either.
I would enjoy some comma's or period's, as well, to break up the run-on dialogue! It would be the same thing if I criticized Bryan/Theatre2.
He's very old but lacks the ability to form complete ideas and thoughts. This has nothing to do with age.
It's also important to note that if you decide to post something incorrect that could easily be fixed by checking posted information on the Internet (i.e. the 2008 Tony Award nominations), you will be called out.
It's nothing personal.

Posted: 2/18/09 at 12:07amThis has nothing to do with an opinion, Corey. This has to so with the poster being a dumb sh*t.
#40re: My thoughts on the Tonys this year

sorry i was posting from a phone, sometimes words get lost. what i meant to say was
"yes we do care about what people say but most of what you said made no sense and sounded like it came from a prepubescent girl, thats why we asked"

TimeSquare3, that comment was uncalled for. I know this board doesn't seem to show much regard for it, but "no personal attacks" is a guideline, and that was just blatant.
We probably all appreciate good writing, but as nexttoelectric demonstrated, what shows up isn't always perfect. And even if people don't always use the best grammar, or have fully correct information, I think we got the gist of what the OP wanted to talk about. Maybe there would be less clutter on these boards if topics didn't descend into (public) nitpicking on things other than the original intent.
All I'm saying is that correcting the OP on their errors or suggesting they look up the info would have sufficed.
Perhaps this thread can continue with what others have to say on the OP's Tony ideas or their own...since it seems that was the purpose of this thread.

[title of show] and next to normal over 9 to 5, really?
Is there not a current thread on this?
#44re: My thoughts on the Tonys this year
Posted: 2/18/09 at 1:44amNext to normal over 9 to 5 yes, but not tos over 9 to 5. it will be Billy, Shrek, 9 to 5 and N2N.
#45re: My thoughts on the Tonys this year
Posted: 2/18/09 at 2:22am9 to 5 is a better show than Next to Normal. Regardless of what you think will happen regarding the actresses' performances (re: Janney and Ripley) there is no denying that on the whole, cast, score, book, etc., 9 to 5 is far more of a lock.
#47re: My thoughts on the Tonys this year
Posted: 2/18/09 at 2:37amI really think 9 to 5 has a good chance at winning...
