From Broadwayspace:
It's been rumored that the Broadway-bound revival of Hair might set up shop at the Neil Simon Theatre, though no official plans or dates have been announced. Hairspray, the current tenant of that theatre, will most likely end its long and happy run in mid-January.
And speaking of closings: I suggest you plan a visit to the Shubert Theatre to catch Spamalot pretty soon. An inside source gave me the heads up that the Tony-winning smash, which now stars Clay Aiken, might soon announce a departure from the Broadway!

Yeah, my money is on Spamalot closing January 9th (Clay's final performance).
Aww...poor Spamalot. But January 9th is a Saturday, wouldn't it close on a Sunday?

The Question is when will the offical announcment come? I don't know if I should see it before it closes? Is it worth the $21.50 for standing room?
Spamalot might close? Yeah! :) Maybe something good can go into the Shubert this time?

Depending on who you ask it's either hilarious or horrid. I'm waiting for a closing announcement.
What the **** is "b4"? Just buy tickets for all the possible closing shows & leave us alone.

Hairspray will most likely extend, so if Hair wants the Neil Simon it's going to have to wait.

Then the question is how long will Hairspray extend?
I've heard two theatres mentioned for Hair... neither were the
Neil Simon.

I would think it would be a good fit for the O'Neill but that's a Jujamcyn and Hair is going into a shubert, right?

How do we know Hair is going into a Shubert tbeatre? I also heard that the reason SA is going to close is bc Hair is looking at that theatre.

coolkid, do you jack it at show closings or something?

Que?
Shows do not close so that another show can come in. The owners can kick out the current tenant for not making their nut repeatedly.....but usually will only do so if they have someone waiting in the wings.
Why would SA (or any show) close just to let another show take its place? That would be like me quitting my job...just so someone else could have it.

coolkid why are you obsessed with shows closeing?
The stagedoor person at Hairspray on Friday said the show is definitely extending. For how long, he doesn't know, but the extension length will depend on the spike in ticket sales.
