NPH on Letterman tomorrow nite

Is he going to perform or just be interviewed? I would assume he would be promoting Hedwig so was curious .

The show opening only said NPH. If he were performing, one images it would mention "and the cast of HATAI" or some such... seems like an interview segment.

He IS promoting HEDWIG, but none of the releases/promos say anything about a performance and only he will be appearing… so I'd assume it's just an interview.

Side note: The cast of ROCKY will be performing on Letterman on May 1st.

Yeah, I noticed that, that's why I asked. I wonder why not- since a lot of shows do promotion performances on Late Night.

Book of Mormon never did television performances… or rarely any public performances for that matter. They don't even have a solid performance preview on TV or online. Look how well that's working out for them. Performances are not required and, not that HEDWIG needs it, but it's a good way to keep people's curiosity and interest up.

Just a thought, Tonys are on CBS, HIMYM was on CBS and NPH is a Tony Executive Producer. He might just be there to promote Headwig and the Tony awards. Besides I think that part of seeing the show is him in costume, They may not want to spoil anything.

As I was typing this I saw a commercial for Headwig and it is flashes of NPH from the head shot used and word flashing. I think they are trying to keep it under wraps like the Andrea Martin stunt thing in Pippin.

@ GreasedLightning - Was that directed to me? if so, What's your point? I just asked how come he wasn't performing and that lots of shows perform on TV shows- I said nothing about it for publicity and it's affect on sales or anything of the like- I just wanted to see him perform (and I am certain I am not the only one who would). If it wasn't directed to me, Please accept my apology.

- and didn't Mormon perform on the Tonys? isn't that considered Television.

Of course they performed at the TONYS, they were up for Best Musical. But it was also Andrew Rannells standing in front of a dark stage singing I Believe, not much there.

I wasn't being direct or snarky, I was just stating a point about advertising/promotion.

The official photos of Neil in costume are all of the internet, so it's already been spoiled a little, but I totally get you're point. He could still just perform out of Costume if they did not want to give much away- I am not saying there is anything bad about him not performing- I just would have liked to have seen it.

Did NPH dye his hair. It looks darker than it did at the show 2 weeks ago?

Nice touch by Paul on the outro music, over Great Balls of Fire, he sang: "He motorboated a heavy dude, Neil Patrick you sure are rude..."

I was wondering how much weight Neil had lost because he looked pretty rough- (Boy is working his Ass off in this show)I kept wondering if it was just me, but then they addressed it. and the pictures of Neil Broadway world posted from opening night red carpet are... interesting.

yea, he got skinny. I saw it about 3 weeks ago and he was built and toned. When he came out tonight he looked thinner than he did 3 weeks ago. (and they say the camera adds 10 pounds) LOL

A friend and I are thinking about trying standing room lottery for Sat night late show. Curious to see him live again and how much weight he has lost in person.

Nothing is going on with it. He is 40 and is very skinny. That's it.

"Yeah, body-wise, I’m trying to just lose as much weight as I can. I’ve dropped almost 20 pounds and am trying to stay as flexible as possible. I try not to eat. [Laughs.] Which is hard. 'Cause apparently you need sustenance to exist. I try to have half a sandwich around 4:30 p.m., and then like some kind of green juice before that and maybe a little oatmeal in the morning. That’s kinda my jam. If I’m feeling really good, I’ll have a glass of wine after the show when I go home." -NPH

Really? you see nothing wrong there? okay. maybe I should be more specific in what I am saying- it looks really odd, I get the skinny part, but it also like he's got way too much makeup on or something- he looks like a wax figure. I am not hating on him, just saying that he looks really bad.

Well, it A: looks like he lost a lot of weight really quickly (which is normal when you're doing a physically intense show like Hedwig as well as probably a necessity for the character) And it looks like he has done some shaping of his eyebrows, which really change the shape of the face.
#22

NPH on Letterman tomorrow nite

Maybe that is it- he just looks really bizarre, Like I said I get the skinny part, but something else is also going on.

OMG, darreyl102! Those pictures!! Neil looks so unhealthy! His face is kinda like Kristin Chenoweth in some of them. I'm not sure if he's still got some of his Hedwig makeup on but I'm worried.

If you have a rapid weight loss and already on the thin side, the face, especially the cheek area are the most to be affected.

Not to mention that if you have a rapid weight loss and are already on the thin side, you should NEVER be photographed by Walter McBride!
