I don't think he looks bad, just exhausted from his job, home life, and probably still had some Hedwig makeup on in those photos. I really enjoyed the interview, he seems like he's doing great.

The amount of fashion faux pas in those pictures is really staggering.
"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.”

At 51, Michell looks better than the current Hedwig. I'm hoping the seriously creepy look is due to makeup, etc.

He just looks like he's about to give out- I mean, he has like 3 1/2 months to go and I am worried his body will give out or something. At that age, doing that to your body can't be good. I wonder if he lost weight for the role, or the role is making him lose weight.

He lost 20 pounds for the role initially, and he has lost more since it started. I'm sure he'll be fine. "At his age?" He isn't 100 years old

BUT he is 40, and getting that thin is not healthy on ANYBODYS body- let alone someone of that age.

Dude, he looks fine in person and on Letterman. Actors of all ages do that all the time, it's going to be ok.

That's your opinion, but I am not alone I my observation. Look at it this way, Nothing you say is going to change my mind on the matter, just like nothing I say will clearly change yours- so let's leave it at that. I feel one way, and you feel another.

Cool. Pictures can be deceiving though, and I'm basing it on seeing him in person since that's really the only accurate assessment one can make about someone's health. Hopefully, you're basing it on the same.

^^ Bob! That was an awesome night! LOL… he motor-boated you so hard, he nearly tripped going back onstage!
Anyways, I found the link where you can view the entire show (I think Paul's song starts near the 28:10 mark) - if it doesn't work, just google cbs and david letterman.

You're acting like 40 is near death -- "at his age". You've got to be kidding me.
Yes, he looks thin, and he looks exhausted. And yes, he didn't take his eye make up off well.
I'm suprised MORE b'way performers don't look like crap on opening night. There's a lot of long days and stress leading up to that.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

I'm not kidding, get over yourself drama. I never said he was near death nor was I acting like it- That is your interpretation of what I am saying (And wanting to start something like normal). when I say at His Age, I mean he is not young, and what he is doing is clearly taking a toll. The older you are, the harder it is for one to bounce back.

If he needed to get that skinny for the role, why not have him lose a little weight and then accomplish the rest with makeup- some simple makeup tricks would do the trick of making him look extremely thin.
