There is literally no current definition of white supremacy that limits its scope to being solely anti-Semitic. One only need actually look at the phrase "white supremacy" to know that is not the case. To re-define it in such a way is a convenient sidestep to absolve yourself of your associations, not to mention a (pun unintended) whitewash .

"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."

Third-party companies measure streaming viewership the same way Nielsen used to measure over-the-air television viewing habits, by putting analytics boxes in people's homes and recording what they watch. It's not speculation, there's an actual methodology behind the reports that ITH bombed on HBO Max.

Also, wow, this thread went off the rails.

Some data is better than making sweeping assertions about what "the left" or "the right" believe. Both terms lack much meaning because they encompass millions of people whose opinions on many issues will vary.

I'm left of center as are a fair percentage of my friends. We aren't all doom and gloom pessimistic as has been asserted here, nor is everything we talk about race, race, race, race. But we do tend to care about historical injustices and continuing systemic inequities even though progress on many issues and for many individuals has occurred.

Historically many of the voices of underrepresented groups that are now more prominent, amplified, or louder were silenced. Some people aren't used to having to share the conversational space and therefore may misread what is actually transpiring.

I am not disagreeing with anything you have said but the "history" to which you refer is not altogether in the rear view mirror. There are lots of not-BIPOC people who are still not hearing those voices and you need go no further than this message board to find them. And of course there are much worse echo chambers than here.

Excellent clarification and addition. I need to be more thoughtful about using historically without some additional modification.
