Surprisingly well done. If you have TWC, it's under Money Matters.

No worries, Brdway411!
I think the article was written for tourists, not for those of us who are looking to go to the theater all the time and can't afford TKTS prices for that reason. I'm sure even some tourists would benefit from joining TDF if they're eligible, even for seeing two or three shows.

Yes, it's common knowledge to most us here, but for those new to NYC or people visiting, it's pretty much one stop article on where to go.

Like NY 1, every story is repeated ad nauseam until you can recite it word for word.

Kind of like every one of your posts. Useless and repetitive.

Without the 20$ discount it won't be as good

Has anyone seen the discount ticket people with the clipboards in Times Square? Last week, I saw them holding out their clipboards which had the logos of Lion King, Wicked, and Aladdin on them. I said to one of them "You do not offer discount tickets to Wicked or Lion King". And I started walking away, and one of them said "yes we do!" so I turned back around and said "when? for what price?" And the two of them just stood there slack-jawed so I walked away again.
I figure their plan must be to lure people in with the Wicked/Lion King logos and then bait-and-switch them to other shows?

Question if anyone knows... do Wicked/Lion King/BOM ever show up at TKTS? Or is it just their policy not to publicly discount? I can't imagine they've got full houses every single night.

They are sold out or almost sold out every night. The only time I saw BOM on TKTS was the first week of previews.

Years ago, around 2007/2008, Lion King offers discounts through schooltix.org

Wicked and Lion King are still selling out? Wicked is running for since 2003 and Lion King from 1997!
Man, wished I'd invested in that.

Wasn't Mormon on TKTS during previews?

That tkts (sp?) booth they mentioned sounds promising. But do they really have any Broadway show tickets?

Not sure if it was on TKTS, but before previews it was on the old broadwaybox. We saw a post opening perfomance (about 1 month in) from the front row of the Mezz at 40% off.

Wicked occasionally has discounts on Travelzoo. A couple of weeks ago they had $99 orch/front mezz seats for around September - mid November. I had a quick look (the date I wanted was 2 days after ugh) and there were some in the first few rows of the mezz and around row P orchestra for that price.

I answered the question about BOM in the thread. YES, it was on TKTS the first week, I think like 3 days when it started previews. My dumb ass when and saw Priscilla Queen of the Desert first preview instead of BOM, Who knew.

I remember receiving mailers with codes for $69 orchestra seats for both MORMON and PRISCILLA. I thought the latter would be the bigger hit, so I chose to splurge (yes, that was a splurge for me) on the PRISCILLA offer. Ha! But I did end up seeing MORMON is the last week of previews from my fairly comfy standing room spot. And I don't regret seeing PRISCILLA from a good seat. I really liked that show--will probably never again see such splendiferous costumes.
