Taking a brief trip to NYC for work in early October 4 days, 3 nights and wanted to see some shows. Any hot tickets you would recommend that'll be playing by then I might want to see? Want to start working on securing tickets now.

Pippin

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Saw Matilda in the Spring, I'll have to look into Pippin. How hard are tickets to come by in the fall?

Pippin and Menagerie, no doubt. If you are buying tix now for Pippin, you should have no problem. I've heard that Menagerie was selling gads of tix as premium....but I think that was several weeks ago, it may have changed.

I saw Menagerie her in Boston and absolutely fell in love with it. I hope you enjoy it, too.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Since it's October, it shouldn't be hard to purchase tickets for Pippin. I believe it's the best time to get them

What are hotels prices like around this time? I've never been in the fall only during the spring.

Pippin, Kinky Boots, The Glass Menagerie, Betrayal. If you want good seats, buy your tickets now.

Hotel prices are pretty steep in October as fall is peak season. I've always had great success with Hotwire and during that time of year can usually get a 4-star property in Midtown East for $175-$200 or in Midtown Central/Times Square for $200 - $250. Just be diligent and start checking every day as the great deals appear suddenly and don't last for long. I'm currently looking for early October as well and no bargains have shown up yet.

Edited to add:

The above prices are for Friday - Sunday nights. During the week, expect to pay about $100 more per night. Updated On: 8/2/13 at 09:51 AM
