please try to avoid going to this unless you have free tix like i did, thanks for the comps!!! to pay close to a 100 dollars just to see a play with only 3 actors, plus the plot is very weak and it doesn't really go anywhere, the play is just words that go nowhere, no point on this play to exist, julia made a very bad choice in my opinion.

Can a good play shelter a movie star from criticism's wet blanket?

A play with 3 actors isn't worth 100 dollars.
For 100 bux my play better have at least 20 actors and moving flats.
Or, better yet, a water fountain that shoots up in the sound wave patterns of Shakalaka Baby.

And I saw both this and Bombay Dreams. Disliked Bombay Dreams. Loved Three Days of Rain.

As I was leaving, there were two young teenagers that were talking and were saying, "What was it about?" but both agreed the acting was great. Obviously, this show is not for all audiences.

I think Three Days of Rain looks interesting. I love the poster design for the show. I'm def. going to pick up the play and give it a read. I didn't like Greenberg's "The Violet Hour" - though I may give it a second try.
I didn't like Bombay Dreams because it was fluff. And don't get me wrong, I don't mind fluff. I loved Wedding Singer, but Bombay Dreams was a let down. I understand that the whole overacting thing is in line with the Bombay style but I just didn't care for that. I don't want intentional overacting - ha. Plus the whole fountain thing was a bit of a let down. I think it was probably cooler on Broadway.
Anyways, I haven't seen Three Days so I'm sort of just guessing, but I think the reason Bradley and Paul seemed as though they were overacting is because of the way Julia acts. I can tell that her style of acting is more subdued and laid back, and when you're playing opposite that and you're a manic character, it might come off as overacting. Again, just a thought.
Festen sounds interesting though. I'd def. watch it. It seems like it has a pretty good story, it just might be the production that's bad.
Glad you liked Barefoot - Patrick Wilson is my one of my favortite actors. Though I'm surprised you saw Hot Feet instead of Wedding Singer! What? lol. To each his own.

Bombay Dreams was just boring to me. Some of the music was good and the sets were good. I'm not really into Indian culture that much and I also thought that the whole story and the guy who was a girl (was the name like Sweetie or someting?) was weird. The book was just odd I thought. I will admit that I still hum Shakalaka Baby sometimes.

Your points are debatable at best, ludicrous at worst.

I'm not surprised it went over some people's heads. It's certainly one of his most intellectual and wordy pieces and I would expect those with certain tastes not to get it.
I guess you really need to be a fan of Greenberg's work to appreciate this superb play.
