ok Yankee, i was sitting very close to Mr Trump and his wife, and the seats were empty after intermission, and so were others around me. Maybe he went to the mezzanine? anyways, i changed the subject in case it bothers you. A lot of people in the audience were saying "is DT going to come back for the 2nd act?" and this woman behind me was saying the show is crap and that if she wouldn't have paid 110 she would have left. Dannyarts, did you see the play on tuesday?

I wasn't taking issue with it, I was just stating what I read in Liz's colum today. A lot of the audience has the "If I didn't pay so much, I'd leave" mentality. It's not a very popular play amongst the Julia-audience.

"good theatre" that got panned...hehe.
Think of the crap shows you have championed around here and remember the above line the next time you do it.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I can sort of agree with Muscle. My tastes are all over the place. I like things from BARE and RENT to Caroline, or Change to Little Women to Tommy to Company.
Munk, i'm surprised to hear that the design for Festen was good. I had heard it wasn't that great. What was it like if you don't mind describing? Was there a show curtain, etc. How was the design for 3 Days. In the "opening night" pictures it looked really cool. Is there a curtain for that?

I also have a varied taste in musicals. The point is that Muscle is always trying to persuad people not to listen to critics and he is now saying that its not a good show becuase it got panned. That is not what determines if a show is good or bad. It is purely based on opinions.

gypsy, you are right about that, i am not a hypocrite, i do still believe reviews are just points of view, i was just using it against a certain user on here, who always critizes my taste and says my opinion is always different from the critics and the people on here. i still stick to what i always say. =)

I went to see it last sunday and saw some people leave during the intermission. The front rows of the orchestra only gave a standing ovation. Most of the people I sat next were very confused about the play.
