NYMF: How to easily get tickets to sold-out shows

Hey people,

Even though I'm involved with one of them, I'm writing this in regards to all NYMF shows because it doesn't seem as if they've been doing a clear job of publicizing this.

Every single NYMF performance has a rather large amount of tickets that they hold for press, industry, insiders and VIPs. What NYMF hasn't made clear is that those unused tickets do become available to the rest of the world last minute. All you have to do is:

1. 6 or 7 PM the night before any performance, go to Theatremania (NYMF is their switching servers) and buy any remaining tickets from there starting then. Or,


2. show up at the theatre about 30-60 minutes beforehand and buy there

I'm pointing this out from my own personal experience. Even though Oedipus for Kids extended and sold out the run, only a handful took advantage of the last-minuteness on our opening night Tuesday. As a result there were a bunch of unsold "released" tickets. A loss for us, NYMF, and those who wanted to see it. I've also seen another sold out show and there were empty seats.

Yes, this is true. The Children sold out last Tuesday, but was able to accomadate walk-ups, and then did sell out.
