Posted: 8/20/10 at 1:56amI was wondering, is he continuing the tradition of not coming out the stage door when the show isn't getting great reviews? I love Nathan Lane - my favorite actor - and I'm supposed to be coming up to NY in the fall to see the show and I'm really wanting to meet him after this time. When I lived there in 2006, I saw him in The Odd Couple and Butley and he didn't come out after either.

I wouldn't be chasing him with 50 playbills and a sharpie. Lol Just a sign and fly is all I really care for. I've heard he isn't the most social at the doors or if you happen to run into him in the city, which is understandable,of course.

Why bother the guy before the show? If he has a reputation for not coming out after the show to greet the fans, do you think he'll want to deal with people when he's in a hurry to prepare for the show?
I'm sure he's a nice guy and all, but leave the guy alone if he doesn't want to be bothered! Even if you only have a sign and a flyer (which I assume is what you meant instead of "fly"). He's not required to greet fans.

And they all say even though he is shy, he's usually kind and doesn't mind much. Like I said, I'm not chasing him. If he wants to sign, cool. If not, understandable. I'm not a 14 year old Wicked fan girl. Lol

He said in an interview (i forget which) that he knows he isn't the most sociable person, when he greets a fan, he doesn't like to chat because he's not sociable. He'll say "hi" and wot not, but not have a HUGE conversation with you.
Even Bebe Neuwirth isn't sociable, she said things like a party strike fear into her, a room full of people she doesn't know, or just single people she doesn't know daunts her. But signing she doesn't mind.
