re: Nederlander Mezz question

When I saw Rent I was in the 3rd row Mezz. I thought they were great seats, personally.
Am I cut out to spend my time this way?
#27

re: Nederlander Mezz question

I'd say just buy the tickets since the OBC of Rent ain't gettin any younger...

re: Nederlander Mezz question

my sister and i decided that if tickets are still there when she gets back from work we will do it (probably)... do we think there will be some left in a few hours??

*facedesk*

I have no idea what to do.

Will I regret not doing it? Yes. Will my life go on anyway? Totally. But I wanna go. iTunes is haunting me and playing the title song right now, and I'm just drooling at hte prospect.

re: Nederlander Mezz question

I hope there are still some available on Monday. Do you think?

re: Nederlander Mezz question

I was thinking about waiting to see what happened with the lottery, but I dunno.

There had been a phone number in the playbill article, but it disappeared.

re: Nederlander Mezz question

That was my plan too. Although, I think I am going to miss the lottery by mere seconds. I'm serious, I think I'll get there at like 3:02. So my thought was I'll most likely miss the lottery but be so caught up in the hoopla of the moment that I will just march over to the box office and plunk down $500. Now I could plunk down $500 right now, but there's a teeny tiny piece of me that's like something may happen. Maybe they'll have some kind of SRO (pipe dream, I know) Maybe someone will hand me a ticket. Maybe they'll let me hold a spotlight. So I don't want to shell out the cash, until every other possibility is exhausted.

re: Nederlander Mezz question

So I'm perplexed. These ARE tax deductable, right? I just called the Neder and they were like "er, it's a benefit, they're not."

Does someone else wanna hassle them? (212) 921-8000

re: Nederlander Mezz question

I distinctly remember reading that a portion of the price was deductable.

And, on the original topic, the seats aren't high up at all. I'm also weary of heights, and it didn't bother me at all. Plus, emcee, you braved the balcony at the Palace for Adam, shouldn't you do this as well? re: Nederlander Mezz question

re: Nederlander Mezz question

Emcee...

All i know is, I played around on ticketmaster this morning just to see what would come up, etc. and it said give your name and address and the benefit people will contact you regarding tax information. So i assume it is tax deductible.

re: Nederlander Mezz question

You people really have 500 dollars for this?

Now I know where to go when I need a handout...
#37

re: Nederlander Mezz question

No, I never sat in the balcony at the Palace. I'm petrified of it.

My parents want to know what the percentage is for the tax deductability before they give me permission, and this isn't a decision I'm going to make *without* their permission.

re: Nederlander Mezz question

luvtheEmcee, according to the fine print at the bottom of the order form (I made a copy for my records): "The non-deductible value of each ticket is $250.00."

The order form was only for the $1,500 and $1,000 tix. I am assuming that the same ded. value goes for the $500 tix as well.
#39

re: Nederlander Mezz question

It should be a precentage, though. For the $1000 ones, it was 75%.

re: Nederlander Mezz question

Well to update, I called the Nederlander and they said it is tax deductible, but the guy didn't know the percentage.

I went ahead and got it right away once I went away from indecision. I figured I'd hate to spend the next couple of days going back and forth, and god forbid I finally decided to go and they were out of tickets. I've been rationalizing it up the wazoo, but yeah. Anyway, I'm on the aisle seat of the center, so hearing about the leg room, I'm thinking that's a good thing re: Nederlander Mezz question

re: Nederlander Mezz question

Well my dad said he would buy one ticket (or half of each) for my sister and I since its her birthday in June... so we are probably going to do it (deep breath!!) but heres a thought- what is the dress code for the performance?!

re: Nederlander Mezz question

I would imagine quite fancy. I wouldn't say necessarily wear gowns, but certainly not jeans. I have this outfit that I call my "opening night: outfit. Really fancy silk pants that bag out so it looks almost like skirt pants, with this furry red tank top covered with a black sparkly shirt. My sister said it looks a little Liza Minnelli, which works for me, I love Liza re: Nederlander Mezz question

PM me when you get the tickets to see if we're near each other.

re: Nederlander Mezz question

Doors open at 6. The show is at 6:45, party is after.

Not sure about the likelihood for autographs. Everyone will be heading straight to the party afterwards and, from what I hear, the way the venue will be set up, it's not like you can mingle through all the tables. The most expensive tables will be grouped closest to the cast, and those tables will have private waiters. The reserved tables will be outside that first 'ring. The lower priced tickets, $1500 and $1000 are only guaranteed "party attendance". I don't think the $500 tickets which are being sold now include the party, do they?

re: Nederlander Mezz question

thanks! we are pretty much set to buy the tickets only now we are panicking that we have nothing to wear and that may be our downfall... i just am not up to shopping today re: Nederlander Mezz question that is such a bad reason not to go... ahh

no they don't include the party I was just wondering if it was beforehand then maybe they would come out for autographs but if its after they probably will go straight there

re: Nederlander Mezz question

I don't know what to dooooooo.

I have a dress I could wear, and everything. heh.

I'd like to catch Adam, since he's er, moving, but I know this isn't about the autographs and the pictures, or the party, really.

re: Nederlander Mezz question

Yeah, the $500 tickets don't include the party attendance. Granted if anyone who paid more cannot attend the party and would like to have me go in there place re: Nederlander Mezz question You never know; it's worth a shot.

Right, I mean the concert is the most important thing--not the autographs or pics or whatever. But isn't usually the parties like a short walk away from the theatre? Like I would think they'd come out the stage door, then go to the party. But especially for those of us going to the concert, it may be really difficult to get there, since those not going may line up way before it is over.

I mean of course it would be nice to go to the party or see them at the stage door...but I wouldn't complain if I didn't.

And totally random/irrelevant, but I'm watching HBO's documentary on Rosie's Gay Cruise and I just saw Jose Llana and Gavin Creel performing. Well, Jose Llana was my first Angel so I guess it's not totally irrelevant...
